Post Even Nissan GT-R's Get Their Wheels Stolen [Car Crime]

09-25-2009 01:30 PM

A Nissan GT-R owner in Long Island woke to find his wheels had been swiped during the night. The bums didn't even have the decency to keep it off the ground, leaving those beautiful Brembos kissing the asphalt.

(Hat tip to Alex!) [Quattro-World]

You'd be surprised what the police won't due even with evidence. I bet they didn't even send a cop to the location, and that guy had to fill out a report over the phone, haha.

That sucks.

do GTRs not have wheel locks on them? I bet the wheel and tire combo alone is at least 5-6,000 dollars. And I think those theives are idiots for not jacking the brakes too. Thats another couple thousand there.

If you're gonna do it, do it big. And that GTR looks like it was parked in an apartment complex or something. Who would leave a 80-90,000 dollar car out like that. Totally his fault.

Pretty sure that would've taken 3x more time to do + way more tools.

how so, I bet they had more than one person doing this. Each caliper is probably only held on by 2 bolts and then the rotor just slides off. Once my wheels are off, its takes me 1-2 minutes tops to take each of my brembos off.

So the owner drives a GT-R and lives in a house with no garage?

I can't tell 100% by the pics but it looks like condo's/apartments? But it is NY so the housing market can be rough. I don't buy it. I place my bet on Insurance scam.

You guys haven't thought of the possibility that he was at a gf's house or something? Just because you drive a nice car doesn't mean you don't park it at people's houses that aren't as nice.

maybe his girl set him, cause instead of buying her a nice ring he bought the gtr, lol.. she wanted to teach him a lesson. but trust me i've seen better cars than the gtr that owners don't have no garage and park em on the street, but guess what no ones that stupidnto mess with it cause they would probably be found in the trunk of something else, lol..

I feel bad for the owner. I had my rims stolen in a similar fashion and it really sucks.

My neighborhood is oddly similar to the one in the pics, its quiet, full of families and you really wouldn't expect any kind of crime.

I'm thinking it was people just passing by the area since its not too far off a main road.

There is not a whole lot of cars these wheels would fit on, with sizes like 20x9.5, 10.5

Unless if he got jacked by another gtr owner, who curbed his driving home drunk one lonely night
