On the real fellas this is just showing how immature we all are. Knocking down fences and not saying anything about it..? C'mon now..Thats just wrong. 4 passenger ride alongs..? Thats just stupid.. Who was the smart dude at the staging lane that let this car run..?

All I'm trying to get at is there is no other location like a track where you can feel completely untouched by law, be totally legit and practice something you love. Let's try real hard to not fuck this up.

just because an organization has been around for a while, doesn't mean their events are 100% problem free.

We at DriftDay have been hosting events since 2001, and we still have the occasional screw-ups. No organization will be perfect ALL of the time.
This is why we need to relay this msg to every staff member of ALL organizations to prevent WSIR from looking down on drifting as a whole.

Yes, other events could potentially ruin it for others, but Don't ever rule your organization out. you never know.

No where did the original letter say anything about cages or tandem.
I think there big concern is the insurence covering accidents.
Because if there is an accident, and thier insurence doesnt cover it.
They could be sued then by the people in the accident.
The waver you sign at the door wouldn't hold up in court in that kind of case.
Also, people holding cameras outside the car would mean that they are putting their limbs outside the car.
unacceptable on any track.
We had started putting the crackdown on passengers awhile back.
I think WSIR is concerned with the "party" atmosphere the drift events are taking on.

And who the fuck would drift with people in the back!!!! fucking noobs. lol

the only time i ever remember this at our event is a year in a half ago. a Violent Running Cressida took about 5 passes at the end of the day on an empty track at about half the normal speed.

Cages seems to be a personal event rule.
Cause I watch cars on big willow running at 90 MPH plus, alot closer than we run.
HTM makes sense. It can be a dangerous course.
But how close/far apart is tandem??

Im sure we are all guilty to a little degree. Us staff and organizers know its tough to get some of these people to realize this isnt the street. Its a racetrack and there are rules.
We have banned a few people in the last 2 years.

But I think that Jim having to go this far means that sometime recently, the rules have really been abused.

Well I meant the broken fence, lol. But this is the first time I heard about the cage to run by yourself though. Looks like I'm gonna be giving WSIR a call to ask some questions since I plan on doing a test day next month, haha.

Gg. This was bound to happen. Hope those responsible start cleaning up their act. As Mark said every event has mistakes but it's up to the organizer to not be so worried about being a "cool guy" that he can regulate and control his/her drivers.

just as i expected... problems arise and people start talking ish about everyone else. organizers could really be the solution to any of the above posted problems. this isnt a ban from wsir they are just letting us know. they like drifters and every one associated with it so everyone needs to help out in fixing the problems. you can really tell who is genuine and who is shady on this forum.

DD has been running events since 2001ish
Just drift for years now
626EVENTS for over 2 years every month at that track
TOUKE, for a year before they took a break.
ASB for a few years now too. iirc

You werent even a legal adult when these group started running events.
So maybe you should watch what you spout off.

In the last 5 or 6 months there are about a dozen new event organizers trying to hold events at WSIR.
And we have a letter now from then threatening ban if things aren't corrected.

i think thats why the long term event holders are a little bothered by this.
And not saying its all new event holders. But I hope that our years of work for the drift community don't get spoiled.
