I think they are on one. They are blaming the wrong people, but what can we do about it? I was going to drive up to Nor Cal to support the hearing, but Al told me to just go to class. While I was in class, I was thinking of how everyone was representing drifting at Altamont and stuff while I was in class and how I could have been there. But what difference does it make? I bet any in any event, any type of motorsport, there is going to be noises. It's a VENUE, a RACE TRACK, how can you not have noises? The very hard work of dozens and dozens of people don't matter to these few ignorant neighbors.

"Our attorneys have advised us the lawsuit is frivolous," Condren said. "It's clearly a case of harassment because Mr. Rivard wanted to buy the property from the previous owners so he can expand the moto-cross facility he has in his backyard."
that was from that article. this part right here made me uber pissed. i was upset before, but this is rediculous. endangered species? harassing little 4-year old girls? sounds like bs to me. and i dont understand, they've been going to that spot everyday for 5 years, knew about the noise, then built their dream house? my drift itch was getting pretty bad now, now what do i do. i hope i dont have to wait too long before drifting comes back regularly. we've already waited a long time.

haha i love people who doesnt have a good educated reasoning specially who could get schooled if you hire a baller ass lawyer that could prove these extreme conservatives wrong in many angles!.

really though? whats with their kids moto dirt park next to their little house of wackness? seems like the locals are voting out "drifting" alone.

i feel bad for altamont for letting go a growing automotive sport. they really should fight it even if it costs $$$$$.

"Gotta pay to play"

Karin Rivard said she and her husband purchased their property, which is adjacent to the racetrack, in 1999 and moved into their home — the front door is about 1,000 feet from the speedway — in December 2005. She said the noise from the track is so loud on race days they can't go outside or sleep.
"If you purchased a home OR BUILD your home next to a dairy farm, you should expect to smell manuver... If you purchased a home OR (again) BUILD your home next to a race track, you should *expect* to hear race cars"

Quote:
Soon after they purchased the property, they began "spending every day" for five years there before deciding to build their home.
Is this family ret@rded?

Quote:
"The only thing going on (then) were Saturday night races in the summer time on the weekends," she said. "During the winter time, it was completely shut down, like a ghost town. We could handle that ... Last year was an epic year, it was the loudest it's ever been in the existence of that racetrack."
O..K.

Quote:
Rivard said racetrack owners have gone so far as to hire a helicopter to harass her family on Sept. 2 by flying over their home until 11:45 p.m.

"Every time we stepped out of the house, the pilot would fly over and terrorize us and our animals," Rivard said. "Our 4-year-old was in tears and saying she wanted to go to a friend's house where she would be safe."
There is no proven facts that the "racetrack owner" would go as "far" as to hire a helicopter just to specifically harass your family. Everytime you stepped out of the house, the helicopter was doing what it was suppose to.. FLY!

Idiots...

Sorry, I'm just irritated by these folks.

But also support the new/upcoming race track in Merced. Riverside Motorsports Park:

Guys April Fools came early this year... we're such jerks! Full season still on!!! Come out and support drifting at Altamont! They want us there and it's DRIFT x BATTLE's official home track!!!

So yah... we're on for the rest of the season until this board figures out what they want to do with AMP's Conditional Use Permit.

So everyone stop crying and being so depressed!!!

YES! DRIFTING STILL ALLOWED IN ALTAMONT ALL YEAR!

April fools came in early this year for you guys.
YES - The County Approve DRIFTING in Altamont.
YES - DRIFTxBATTLE will be hosting all 8 events at Altamont.

We couldn’t keep it secret anymore. Everyone emailing us and see what you guys can do. We will have a full review on what went on that room.

We would like to give a big thank you to all our support that came out and support Altamont Motorsport Park and DRIFTING in general.

This is just some insight for everyone. To not follow a simple rule by speeding at Midway road, by dropping thrash, and making too much noise when going home. It could end for all of us! So think twice before and leaving ALTAMONT MOTORSPORT PARK

As for now, read the tracy press “Drifting, overnight camping OK’d at Altamont”
