Question on emissions in virginia

I was born and lived for a while in Virginia in the 80s and recall emissions testing. Do they still enforce this? I'm considering coming that way for graduate school, I just need to know if I'll be able to bring the car or not. If so, how do the SR folks get around this?

What does "so" mean?

Putting a RWD SR into any car is a federal crime so it's illegal in all 50 states/commonwealths.

There are ways to get your car street legal, but SR + street car = illegal everywhere in the USA.
