s14 New to VA, looking for good shops

hey, sup guys:

I have just moved to springfield, VA from MA, not too familiar with the area yet. What are some good shops for regular maintenance and paint work? I might repaint my car in a month or so.

thanks!

Thanks for the info, guys! However, do any of them do regular stuff, like oil change etc?

Redshift does regular maintenance as well. Thier lead-tech Nate is superb, and has been racing/working on 240's since the 1990's.

Local VA/DC area folks whore it up at www.midatlantic240sx.com

see you there

wouldn't trust JGY since shaun left. worked there, and they did my buddy's swap. they did his swap, turbo upgrade, and did the z32 maf. they didn't use the z32 plug that takes 2 min. to wire up. instead wrapped the wires around the prongs and used silicon to seal it. the maf shorted out and read no low output, kept sending the car to fail safe. we bought a z32 plug and a jgy did give him a new maf though, i wired it. bingo, fixed the problem. this seperates a great shop from a decent shop.

Note: this is an opinion.

For regular stuff il say to to WB Motors on Pickett Road in Fairfax. I worked at autothortity next door till we closed and WB has great people and all of them are older and have been working for a long time so you know they wont beat on your car, my family brings their cars there cuz im out of town alot.
As far as the "watching" the tech thing i wouldnt suggest it. They get REALLY pissed if you are standing around watching them, and im saying this from experiance from working at alot of shops, people who have been doing it for years dont like people wacthing them like they dont trust em to do the job and telling them what to do. Just bring it somewhere thats trustworthy and look over the work after.

Redshift is the popular shop around here for 240s. Feel welcome to drop by their shop in Chantilly whenever. They wont bite.

But your very close to B&T Motorsports. They aren't a big name sponsoring everything out there type of shop, but they do very fine work. They are a bunch of honest guys and take care and pride in all the cars the work with. They've worked with many cars that end up being magazine worthy cover show cars, crazy drag cars, and competative drift cars but rarely get the recognition. Lets not forget all the well known cars they've built on the "local street" scene. Out of all of the shops here in northern VA (there are a TON), they are one of the only shops i recomend to people.

InlinePRO is only a few miles away from B&T and might actually be a little closer to you. I'm sure you've heard of InlinePRO... guys with the crazy fast record holding Hondas. I doubt you'll go there often but its just an FYI incase you need universal parts (intercooler, couplers, etc etc) on the fly.

GL at your new home. Springfield has many ricers and street racers, so dont be suprised if your car gets profiled. There are always meeting spots around the Springfield Mall area on Fri and Sat nights and even many weekday nights when its warm.
