Ebisu Fall Matsuri Event

Ebisu fall matsuri festival just finished up last weekend. Have reels of footage to sort through.

Also be sure to follow Dino’s Speedhunters review. Post one can be seen here - EVENT>> AUTUMN DRIFT MATSURI - P1 - Speedhunters

For now a couple photos. More to follow.

Cant wait for more coverage.
Nice to see cars being used for drifting fun and no worries about "dopeness".

these Japanese events seem like so much fun.
Couple really nice cars in there too.

that bump initiation towards the wall must be fun/scary in the rain!

Haahahhaa glad you guys liked that one. This was my third matsuri festival and that car has been at every one. And god knows how many before this. Though this time around the rear of S chassis now has a kei truck bed welded onto it and in the front that chunk of iron for a front bumper with coil springs holding it up.

This is just one extreme example of how hard these guys get into it. Couple more shots of this missile. Expanding foam ftw.

On with actual drifting. Roughly 400 cars were spread out across the 7 or 8 courses during the weekend. Id say 25 % of the cars were driven by Gaijin (Foreigners).

Here's a shot of Ben Mackerras in his S14 Missile.

Ben was over from Australia with a large group. Each of the guys, 7 or so in total all bought missiles to run for this event. At the end of the event plans were to half cut all the cars and load them into a 20ft. container for export to Australia. Decent idea all around. Partial return investment could at least be paid back.

Unknown Japanese drifter here with a clean looking S15 Spec R. Car had a nice kit on it.

Another S chassis coming off the apex turn into a hairpin turn.

This Japanese group had an autumn appeal in there camouflage color scheme. Both coming off the apex ready for the hairpin.

Back over on the Minami course (main D1 pro course), there was steady action. Caught this nasty BNR32 clipping way fast onto the main straight.

Few missiles lining up for another run on the famous minami main straight. Cars well punished.

More to follow...

At least missle cars in Japan are cars that had previously gotten into accidents unlike the dumbasses in America that take a perfectly good car and ruin it.

Im sorry, but your wrong.
The cars get beat up as people learn to drift, just like here.

Thats what happens when you drift.
The cars get abused.
If you feel sorry for a perfectly good, overly abundant, 20 year old gas guzzling $1500.00 car, then dont click on a drift thread.

Please leave and let us have our fun

Eric, those cars are cars that have been in accidents and cant pass inspection. So to not waste a car they are made into "missiles". Those cars only see track driving, no street driving so beating them up is understandable. I dont know if you have noticed the cars belonging to Matt Powers and Tommy Roberts, those cars are driven hard and still look 10x better then yours. Sure they are a little rough around the edges but still nice cars overall. Have you checked craigslist recently? Most of the 240s on there have already been whored by drift fanboys so yes a good example is not as abundent as you think it is. Your car is a gas guzzler? I DD my car and it gets exeptionally good gas mileage. $20-$25 of gas lasts me the whole week. I will continue to let you have your fun DRIFT KING

lol.
not all cars started as missles is what im trying to say.
And i understand they arent allowed on the street anymore.
Glad we arent as tough as Japan

As for the rest of it, ok.
I just laugh.
I could give a shit.
I got my car with the front mangled from an accident and it has been in to many to count since then.
the damage on the drivers door rail is sooooo bad.
you should have a look if you ever see my car.
But no reason to throw it away and crash another S13.
I will continue to learn in my car.
Every month I am at the track smiling and having a good time cause im spending my money there and not in the garage wet sanding a kit and eating ramon while I save for 4 months for some Works.

to each his own.
I love looking at nice cars when im bored,
but i get more out of driving than building.
one day i will be able to afford both,
till then...........

my KA milage is around 22mpg i think.

more pics????

Dino just release PT.3 over on speedhunters - EVENT>> AUTUMN DRIFT MATSURI - P3 - Speedhunters

Excellent final round up for sure.

Now for more photo's.

Not everything is rubbish at these events. On hand were several mint looking JZX100's. Like this one in white pearl.

Particularly liked this S chassis with 180 front. Back drop suits it perfectly.

This C33 Laurel was spotted early Sunday morning. Fender extensions looked to be all composite. Wheels must have been 10-11J all around.

Only cute Japanese girl out over the weekend. Rest were lard asses. Here's Mio in her R32 Type M. About to head over to the school course.

More to follow later...
