It's easy, the 1/8 ports are on the oil return to the block which is sealed with o-rings.
that and the block will only bolt on one way.

look at the way the port for that AN fitting flows. One side will flow out towards the oil filter and one will flow in towards the motor.

yeah, i'm sorta confused on this as well.

is the out to the filter port the one with the extra ports for sensors/lines or is it the other one thats below it? maybe in future one's, little arrows or an "o" for out and and "i" for in or something to make it really really simple. not that this is rocket science....

u dont need to take it off. Just look at it with ur oil filter off. U'll see a port coming from either the top or bottom and u can tell which way it flows.

didn't think it'd be too hard to tell...
let's try it again

the AN fitting on the side the 1/8 npt ports are is the return to the block
car takes pressure/temp readings from the "clean" oil returning to the block from the filter/cooler.

hope that clears it up.

i finally got around to gathering up the parts to install this thing. i'm putting an autometer oil temp gauge also. the sender on the temp gauge has a long probe that hits the fitting. any suggestions from the experts here? i could cut back or turn down the fitting so it clears but then the sender would be right in the oil flow path. what about a different fitting, or a 1/8th to 1/8 extension like this. but i'll likely have to drill that out.
