before i put my trany in, i placed the automatic tranz and the 5speed tranz aside and compared both of the speed censors and the automatic on had a bigger gearingsize then the 5speed one so i dont know if that has to do with my speedometter is reading bad?
if anyone could give me some info on this it would be deeply appreciated!

First of all, yes I have searched, but I have a unique situation. I have a '91 KA24DE, completely stock except for a Mishimoto aluminum radiator. The engine has just been rebuilt, every part of the cooling system is new: waterpump, 170 degree t-stat, temperature sensor, hoses, rad cap, circuit sports aluminum overflow tank. I am running Dual Altima fans at high speed on a temp controlled relay.

Problem: the engine keeps overheating after the car warms up and drives around for about 10 minutes. The outside temperature doesn't matter, even though I live in South Carolina. When it overheats, the temp needle gets almost all the way to the top and the coolant overflow bubbles over. The upper hose will get VERY hot (as in burning to the touch) and the hose visually expands (due to the pressure), but the lower hose remains cool to the touch, including the t-stat housing.

I have bled the system numerous times, jacked up the front, there are no air bubbles in the system.

My theory: the aluminum radiator is doing such a good job at cooling, that the t-stat wont open because the incoming water is below 170 degrees.

Can anyone add their thoughts or theories as to why my car keeps overheating? I want some of your input before I go out and spend $70 on a Nismo 144 degree t-stat.

Thanks guys!

Hey guys i've been having trouple with my rb25det neo. Its got a walbro 255 fuel pump and its running on a 92 maxima ecu. For some reason I cant get it to tune correctly and the afr's are all over the place. I had my tuner come over and try to tune it and didn't have any luck. He told me its probably a fuel delivery problem. He said he add so much fuel that the afr's should stay at 10 when boosting at 7psi or higher. For some reason it doesn't do that. On the first pull it will sit at 10afr and then when i bump it up to 10psi it aslo holds at 10afr so, so far so good. Then after a couple more pulls it starts to lean out at 10psi and the afrs start at 10 then spike up to 14. so i put it back down to 7psi and it spikes up to 14 again. So i changed the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel pump to a new walbro 255 thinking the old one might be going bad. Ran it again and the same situation happens, good for a couple pulls then it starts acting up. Also, when i turn the key in the on possition i cant hear the fuel pump whine like it should. In fact i cant really hear it at all.

If anybody has any feedback on what the problem could be or what i should do next i"d greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.

Hey everyone. My name is Gabe and I'm new to the site here. Looks like there is tons of information and I'm very excited to be a part of this site and to be a new 240 enthusiast.

I just recently purchased a 1992 Hatch and ran into a couple problems I'm hoping somebody has feedback on.

The driver side door harness is shot and needs to be replaced. Anyone know where I can get a new one?

I removed the dash and center console to expose the disgusting wiring job the owner before me did. I removed the guage cluster and now when I plug it back in, it doesn't work. Everything worked fine before hand.

Also, upon purchasing the vehicle my tail lights work fine but the actual braking bright portion of the red in the tail lamps does not work. I checked all bulbs and fuses.

Any help or advice on the issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Gabe

Ok let me make this as simple as possible:

Rebuilt motor 5k ago
New plugs (Ngk)
New plug wires (Ngk)
New distributor
New water pump
Motor ran perfect w

Car was in a recent accident. Radiator hit distributor cap and cracked it also crushed the plug. I replaced the whole distributor correctly (TDC). I took each wire that went into the plug and labeled them from top to bottom what wire goes to what pin, I then put new connectors on each pin and connected them individually. I checked all fuses and they are good. I took hoses off fuel rail and turned key gas came out of bottom hose, put them back tried to start car and got nothing. I then took out spark plug #1 put it close to shock tower to check for spark had a friend start it and it fired up, then I had him turn it off. I then put spark plug back in and tried to start turn it on it took a second but started idled around 600-650 if I remember correctly seems like it was about to stall. I let it idle for about 15 seconds and tried to hit has a little and it died out. Now its back to not starting.....

Any ideas. I checked all grounds also.

When Precision released their new 46mm Wastegate, we were asked by our clients to do a side by side comparison with the Tial 44mm, you are probably wondering, why not against the Tial 46mm?? and the reason is because even though Tial makes a 46mm, it is the 44mm that has the same mounting flange as Precision’s therefore if you have a header with that mounting flange already on it the decision would be between the Tial 44mm and the Precision 46mm. Below is the observations we were able to make by taking them apart, and comparing their internals.

Tial is a 44mm Wastegate that comes in a multitude of colors. Precision’s has a bit of a larger valve, 46mm, and it is only available in black. The boxes are the same size and they both come packed with the same foam material that completely protects every part from damage during shipping.

Below are the contents of the boxes the way they come, the clear difference is that the Precision comes with 3 extra springs in the box, that way you have the possibility to replace them without having to make a separate order for them.

As for the hardware, both have the banjo design, but the Precision brings an extra plug in case you don’t use one of the ports of the Wastegate and the Tial doesn’t have this in their hardware.

When side by side they look very similar, however the Precision unit is a bit smaller in height compared to the Tial.

The underside again is the same basic design, however you can see how the valve in the precision is a little bit larger (2mm) than the Tial unit.

Once apart, the precision comes standard with 2 springs, and the seat materials are visibly different, I ‘m not qualified to give a breakdown on the materials, however the structure of the seat itself is the same, and even though is hard to tell from the pictures they both use a 4 Allen key setup to hold the seat to the valve itself.

Internally the main difference is Precision uses a longer sleeve to hold the stem of the valve.

And last but not least the literature. Precision comes with a multi page full color instruction’s manual, Tial half a letter size paper printed in both sides.

Hope this can help you make an educated decision when in the market for a Wastegate.

I've checked the ATF level four times, twice cold and twice hot on flat ground. In every instance the dipstick showed a full level. To be more specific with what happens lets say I turn my car on then put it in reverse..sometimes that jolt you feel when it changed the gear will hesitate for about 2 seconds and the same thing for when I put it into 1st. Other than that though the car shifts smoother than it use to when im at speed. I checked for leaks and kinks and found none. I did spill some ATF when adding the extra hoses but didn't think anything of it as the dipstick shows its at capacity.

Any ideas?

Hey everybody, I know i'll probably get flamed but anyway. I just bought a Memory Fab S58 one piece race seat and a Crow Enterprizes 5 point harness and I went to mount the harness to the floor in the rear where the rear seats used to be like i've seen before, but the harnesses are to short, they clearly would be perfect if I had a harness bar but my Safety 21 7 Point doesn't have a harness bar on it (for what reason I have no idea). Last resort I'm going to pull the main hoop out and add a harness bar but before I do that I was wondering if anyone makes a harness extender, a solid strap that bolts to the harness mounts and then to the floor giving me enough length to mount the harness at the correct angle. I've looked for 3 days and I can't really seem to find anything if anyone could help me out that would be awesome, thanks in advance.

PS. I know a harness bar is the most efficient way and all but i know the harness can be mounted to the floor I really don't need any badass safety experts to come in here and school me on anything i'd just like my question answered please and thank you

Alright guys, you better appreciate this. Hopefully you guys can use this as a good point of reference when you decide to tackle whatever wiring job you may happen to be working on.

I've had an OEM Wiring Diagram from 1988 for the S13 chassis, SOHC, and covers both hatch a coupe models. I'll Work on getting better pictures, but my scanner just isn't big enough for the pages (I'll take it to a copy place to have them scanned, and scaled down) Included in the book is a 7ft, color coded, schematic of the entire harness which I'll also figure out a way to get on here... possibly in a PDF or Zip. Anyways, hope you guys like it, I've never seen another one of these books.

Some say you have to unplug TPS to make ecu go into base timing before you install new distributor some threads do not mention this at all.

Just trying to clarify....trying to trouble shoot a lot of things.....

I also read a thread where they had timing marks on crank pulley, my crank pulley has no such marks unless of course those were put there by the owner.

I installed the distributor with exhaust cam facing out (compression stroke), facing exhaust manifold. It is aligned with cyl one on cap.

Just trying to make sure I have it correct because I did not unplug TPS sensor.

btw this is a 97

Hi all.

I am planing of going to a Tomei Solid lifter cam Setup.
Curently i have 260's.

I have a GT3582 that comes on full boost at about 4900-5000, and power goes up, until about 7000-7200 RPM, before it starts to drop off.
Max torque 435lb/ft, and max power 530hp @ HUBS on Dynapack.

I am trying to decide wheter to go with 260's Solids, for the Solid lifter upgrade, or go for 270's.

I want to be able to make power beyond 7000-7200, but i dont want the turbo to come in later than it does now.

Does anyone have any experience with upgrading from 260's to 270's, and can comment on the difference ?

Better yet, if someone knows of a dyno comperation or something...

Thanks,
Dany.

Ok so long story short car was in an accident. Radiator/Ac condensor hit distributor. Plugs were cracked on distributor and cap was cracked. I wrote down what wire was on what pin on the distributor and cut off cracked plug. I then put new connectors on each wire and connected them individually on each pin. I also replaced the distributor (correctly TDC).

Car is now making a groning buzzing type sound when turned to ACC. Car will also not start.

History behind car:
Ran perfect before accident
Rebuilt 5k miles ago
New plugs
New plug wires
New distributor

Any ideas?

Since i swapped in my m/t if i'm coming to a stop and letting the revs go down I can hear what sounds like something spinning as I come to a stop, its almotst like a whine of a gear thats spinning. i can't seem to figure out whats making the noise, is it the actual gears in my tranny or is it my driveshaft rubbing something? It's not coming from the engine, its either the tranny or the driveshaft...

my car has abs, and i'm using the front part of a m/t s14 driveshaft but the back part of the driveshaft is the abs one from my auto d/s, is that why its making the noise?

Today I went and looked at this old ladies 96 240sx and it's in great condition except for this squealing noise coming from a pulley that I have pointed to in that picture below(not the same car as I looked at today, just using pic to show) My thoughts are that it's just a loose pulley, I checked the belt and it seemed firm but I couldn't move the pulley with my finger. I might still buy this car if anyone hear can tell me a little more about this problem.
