Nissan has a part number for spark plugs. They are NGK 7 cold rating copper spark plugs. The part number is 22401-20J07. They come gapped at .35 so they need to be regapped to .28. Why does this matter? Because these plugs only cost $2.90 each.

this question here regards a S14 SR swap into a S13...

Would the wiring harness work if you take a S14 SR thats wired for S14 and throw it into a S13 chassis ? or would the wiring harness need a few changes ?

if so then what changes needed to be made.

thanks

It's possible but you have to check all the engine harness plugs that plug into the body harness. Some of them may be not be the same depending on year, options, auto vs. manual.

It's a lot of work for someone who has not done one before.

It's still a lot of work for me since I have no idea if the harness was done correctly before.

It's always cheaper to just buy a new uncut harness and pay someone to mate it to your car than paying someone to fix a chopped harness.

i've done a SR redtop into s13 before ... wiring is simple ! .. so i do have experience. and i really rather not pay someone , im cheap i do my own work.

the only thing im thinking about is if the dash connectors are the same, unless something isint coming to mind for me , thats why i hope some of you guys can shed some light here for me.

thanks again guys.

I'll post some information I have on S15 ECU codes because the internet is massively failing me at the moment.

So far I've encountered 2 coded ECU's for S15's. Both from the Japanese Market.

Some information from Pete at PLMS developments:
Quote:
Traditionally Nissan start off with "00" at the start of the model run and just increment each time there's an update. These are nearly all incremental. So you can swap anything in the series. We've got 91F 00, 01, 05, 06, & 07. These are all JDM images. Autos are 10 and 11. Aussie S15's are 93F00, 01 etc.

The ECU codes that I both have and tested on my JDM S15 motor are "QT" and "NQ"

QT part number is 23710 91f05
NQ part number is 23710 91f08

So from the above paragraph you can see why Pete's conclusion makes sense.

Also just some good information to have:

Quote:
Usually the best images are actually the early ones! What seems to happen is that they release the model and then tunes are updated based on feedback from dealers. From what I can work out this must often be complaints about detonation - due to inferior fuels and/or local conditions (like here in Oz we have lesser fuel than Japan and hotter weather). So they richen mixtures and lessen IGN timing figures = less power.

I need a no bullshit answer to the following. I keep getting mixed answers from searches, people and the internet.

I am looking to swap an SR20DET into my 1990 S13 Hatch. Im not sure what type of SR20DET or from what chassis.

1- I need to know what do I need to do the swap to make it complete and running?
2- I have a KA24DE engine, and a KA24E engine. What can I take from either to help with the swap or use as a spare part down the road if need be?

PM me with answers please. Thanks.

Sort of.
*ISIS Intake Manifold - Sand Finish - Nissan SR20DET S13 [ IS-SRINT ] - Enjuku Racing - Performance Parts and High Quality Fabrication
You have to widen the hole on your fuel rail (takes 2 minutes with a Dremel) but otherwise seems just as good IMO.

can someone elaborate on this some reading through this thread and forum there are alot of different opinions on what to use
-what psi in-line fuel pump do you need
-when running a inline fuel pump does it need to be regulated
-is there a different oem nissan pump that would work ?
-I imaging the best location would be as close as possible to the stock sending unit?

Searched with no luck. Does anyone know if a dohc ka coolant temp sensor will fit a s13blacktop? I am pretty sure its s13 blacktop only.

you must use the KA sensor for your sr depending on what chasis u have..
example: i have a s13 redtop sr in my 96 s14, therefore i would be able to use a temp sensor from a 96 ka in my s13 sr
trust! works for my setup
