Trader Rating: (0) Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Turbo shaft play too much? Video included This is an ISIS RS3871. I melted a piston previously discused here and the shaft play got a little worse after that. Is this too much guys? It had some shaft play before I melted a piston. Here is the video of the shaft play after the piston melted. Turbo free shaft play Isis rs3871 - YouTube Why do you think this happened? Would an engine overheat cause this? Is it just cause ISIS turbos are cheap and can't take an engine overheat? My engine overheated when I melted the piston. I never got an oil pressure warning light though, so I don't think I had a bad oil failure. The turbo has less than 1,000 miles on it, and some of the time it didn't have coolant lines hooked up, but for the autocross I did have coolant lines hooked up.
