KA Help! 240 wont start

1989 240SX SE KA24E
Just did an auto to manual tranny swap now my car turns over but wont start. Sounds like its jumped time (turns over fast and pops every so often)
Is it possible the engine jumped time as soon as i tried to start it for the first time after the tranny swap? Rebuilt the bottem end of the motor about 2 yrs ago, and at the most the chain has 50k on it(not sure because speedo doesnt work)

Sounds like it jumped time. Pull a plug out and check compression. You can pull the valve cover off and look in to see chain and guides.

ok pulled valve cover off pulled #1 spark plug out, got #1 piston to TDC ,pulled off dist cap and rotor button is pointing towards #1, but cam gear keyway is pointing towards driver side of head. isnt this keyway supposed to be pointing striaght up?
Its been awhile since ive been inside this motor and cant remember, but the KA24E does have valve relief pistons doesnt it? Or is it possible to bend a valve if the timing did jump?
