| Leaky Injector ![]() | Help Me Out With My S13? <3 Hi everyone ^__^ I'm New to zilvia, and i know very little about 240s I Just Recently bought my Nissan 240sx Coupe 1989 and i LOVE IT!<3 but to the topic! I Am searching for a new clutch for my car, but i dont know what is good and what is bad for the 240. right now i have a exedy stage 1 clutch but like the recent owner, its time to change it. so i was woundering should i buy the same one? or should i go stage 2? i read on some post, and they say stage 2 exedy is only good if u have a sr20,and i have a single cam KA , but some of my friends say it doesnt matter and should go the extra stage. so does it sound good? or no? (OH!! P.S- This car is a drift car so keep that in mind<3) PLEASE AND THANX YOU EVERYONE!<3<3<3 |

| Guild of Skullduggerous Intent ![]() | If you like the feel of the clutch that's in there stick with it if you plan to make more power (torque) in the near future then consider a stage 2 set up it'll be harsher to drive though exedy is a good brand |

| Zilvia Member ![]() | excedy stage 2 is not that harsh at all. maybe with a lightened flywheel but with stock flywheel its not too bad. very good clutch though. feels stock, just grabs a little harder when needed. if you can afford a stage2, go for it. esp. if your planning on keeping the motor for a while. |

| Leaky Injector ![]() | yeah im planing on having this KA engine for maybe the next 2 years, then go RB20 cause everyone has a sr20 =p yeah the clutch already is actually really good, when i down shift or push it hard it goes very easy, but my problem is if , excedy the only good clutch out there?? |

Trader Rating: (9) | Nah, I had an ACT stage2 on my SOHC, and it was awesome. The engagement was on point, predictability and smooth transitions ruled. Rock the shit outta that SOHC. They're champs as fuck. Crank pulley, nice new exhaust and chassis bracing does wonders.

| Leaky Injector ![]() | i think i have that already off, the previous owner took it off i think already. because my gas pedal is very easy to push down, and response nice when i put the gas pedal just alittle bit, but ill double check and see! |

Trader Rating: (9) | Well, removing that damper box makes the clutch more stiff and defined. Nothing to do with gas.

| Leaky Injector ![]() | yeah i saw a internet demistration on how to take it off and everything, seems pretty easy to take off, but i wont know if its off my car until tomorrow, cause im going to rotate my wheels and paint my rims bronze/gold =) but dang just that thing can make your clutch response better? wow |

| Leaky Injector ![]() | well everything is mostly done for a "PROJECT DRIFT" car, cause the owner always went to the canyons and went to drift comps, so its a low pro machine<3 i bought it for 2700 and i have apex exhaust Megan Coilovers (drift mod) Sway/strut bars(engine/trunk/rear end/window) Brushings (i forgot wat kind) Ka Engine Single Cam (new engine internals) injen intake headers (i forgot) 2-way Kazz LSD Skyline R32 Breaks with project u pads the car is gutted out to be 2 seats and i think thats the majors? but im going to do a whole head job, Going to Get Road Cage, gotta buff down the car, paint the rims, buy new tires (falken),new clutch, and thinking about either silvia front end or s14 kouki front end conversion, and 2 tone (white with brown on bottom) and watever comes up lol |

Trader Rating: (9) | beef up your rear end. a truck brace bar (it bolts up from above the spare wheel well) would do nicely. And since its stripped anyways, I'd suggest a custom brace from the lower rear seatbeat across as well as a CPillar brace. None of that fancy looking bullshit, but a solid brace. I'll show you mine when i find pix. DIY chassis bracing FTW. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The rear just went unpainted cuz i got lazy.

| Kouki front on a coupe FTW! Exedy is awesome, get a stage 2 for sure especially if youre going to be using your vehicle as a drifting device. | |

Trader Rating: (3) | if you really want power and lots of angle for teh drift you need to hang a little doll of the rear right tow hook of you car it will simply complete the look your going for lolzz =] <33 enjoy your newest mod |

| Leaky Injector ![]() | haha yeah i have DOMO<3 hehe ^_^ yeah its really hard to pic Excedy or ACT , there both good i heard, but ill still do some research about the 2 and see which i like better<3 but yah im thinking of a s14 kouki front end conversion, but i heard its pretty hard, but im down to take my time and effort to make it look clean and everything, ive put a whole front end for my cousin for his silvia front, and that wasnt all that hard, just wiring lol |

| I have an Exedy stage 2 in my s13, I do however have a SR set up but regardless i DD my s13 and although engagement was a little harsh at first now i'm used to it and it's alright to daily with it. Like everyone else said, if you want to add more power/torque go ahead and get the stage 2. | |
| | |
| | #23 |
| Leaky Injector ![]() | hmmm so hard to choose, but ill just go the extra stage then, excedy seems pretty good for me, for stage one, so ill try the stage 2, they seem like there both good (Excedy & ACT) but ill try the Excedy stage 2 and see where it goes there. thanx guys!!<3 |

| If your going to be drifting it and be rough get a act 6 pluck unsprung its a prety rough clutch but if u jus use your pressure plate u got now or get a stock pressure plate it well be eaiser on the foot while engaging and dis engaging. | |

| Post Whore! ![]() | The thread is only alive/still going because the op is a, "girl". There is no reason why a clutch for a higher hp application wouldn't work for a low power application. |

![]() Anyways, is the clutch slipping already? It almost sounds like you wanna change it just to change it. If it aint broke or slipping, dont bother changing it. I'd save the money and spend it on making a bit more power since the SOHC is a fucking sloth... As far as going RB20 vs SR20...theres a reason why theres alot more SR owners than RB owners. Harder to find parts for RB20 compared to an SR.

| Leaky Injector ![]() | dang just cause im a girl? lol u guys!! im a 240 owner like u guys To!, u guys dont have to treat me nice lol, if the question sounds bad, then tell me its stupid and end the post lol but thanx u guys for the support! =) but nah actually when i hit 1st-2nd sometimes 3rd gear its actually pretty hard to go into, doesnt feel as smooth when i 1st road it. but it mite be the 2-way stopping me,but i checked out the clutch and its still good for maybe a few drift comps (like 2) and pulling hard. the ex-owner hasn't changed the clutch in like...2-3 years, and im sure because hes a drifter himself, its pretty worn out by now lol |

| SLINKY + ESCULATOR = Fun Times ![]() | Again...if its not slipping, dont worry about it. As far as the tranny goes, change the transmission fluid and see if the 3rd gear issue goes away. AMSOIL Manual Transmission Gear Lube 75-90W.
