SR S13 SR blacktop [startup problem]?

So i have a blacktop sr20det has full turbo back exhaust, stock smic, and piping, greddy type r bov, manual boost controller and walbro 255 fuel pump...

This seems to always happen on cold startups or randomly sometimes...
when i go to startup the car it starts and idle/bogs like at 300-450 rpm then dies i have to start it about 4-5 times sometimes before it starts and idles good! after it starts it runs perfect spools nice everything....

anyone might know what i can do to solve this problem any help will be much appreciated

when it starts i have a vaccum of 18 so seems liike vaccum should be ok..
battery is good.. fuel pump sounds fine..

have you checked the Fuel pressure regulator?

sometimes if they are getting old they will allow the pressure to not build up and cause a rough start up.

so i still get problems at cold start ups! the car will turn on and stumble around 400-500 rpms then after about 4-5seconds it shoots up to 1100 and its fine!!

any ideas on what it could be? i knw its suppose to start up right away!!

someone mentioned fuel regulator! how would i check that?

i also have a vaccum of 20 does that matter? isn't suppose to be 18?

thanks in advance

I don't have all the info as i am just an apprentice, but if your running a stock reg or any vacuum operated unit you can use a vacuum pump and see if it hold vacuum. Also if the fuel rail you are using has a shrader valve on it you can hook up a fuel pressure gauge and watch it at start up. Good luck!

Send a message via AIM to steve shadows
loosen the IACV screw so your motor can pre-suck some air into the IM to keep it idleing while in it's cold idle session
