ka24de cam journal cap clearence

Hi, I have a ka24de and I recently screwed my head up so i got another used head from a '98 s14. I heard that I can tighten one cam journal cap at a time down and lift the cam at either end to see if theres play. Ive done this and gotten all the caps I need for both camshafts. heres my situation tho, some of the caps let the most minimal hair of a play when lifting up and down, so much you couldn't almost fit a hair in between. Some of the caps fit very snug and there is no play, some caps were pretty tight and created more drag on the cam shaft than others so I switched them around till I was at a point where after all caps were installed, both intake and exhaust camshaft wouldn't budge if lifted at either end, however, the camshaft rotates pretty easy by hand. Like I said before some caps put more resistance on the camshafts abbility to turn before I switched them all around. so my question is, dose it make a diffrence how easy my cams ability to rotate is? i was wondering if it should be really hard to turn the cams by the sprocet by hand or if it should be medium hard or easy, or if it dosent matter as long as the cams are locked in and don't have play at either end when locked down. thanks for the input and sorry about the long post. i know they need clearence for oil to lubricate it so I figured ti would be fine how easy it roates right now, but jsut wanted some second opinions.

The cam should rotate freely, but not be loose. Basically what you've already got, zero clearance from the caps with a free spinning camshaft. I've done the same on other heads as you, swapping caps around until all the tolerances match. Works fine.
