whats the difference?

kay im pretty much new to this kinda stuff ladat.
i wanted to know what the real difference is between "SOHC" and "DOHC."

i just heard dat sohc motors was one of the earier model motors and dohc was the opposite....

so idk is anything wrong wit da differences.??

sohc = single cam. dohc = dual cam.

^ main difference. sohc was available 89-90 while the dohc was available from 91-95.5 as an OBD 1 motor and 95.5-98 as an OBD 2 motor.

so pretty much to make a long story short a DOHC motor is better den a SOHC.??

doesnt both motors have potential.??

yes they do but its what you want? if you wana go fast rev high and get the ladys dohc is the way to go. If you wana be lame and gay and go for the guys go sohc
