| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | Just got done swaping in my new SR and now it wont crank. All my lights work and what not. It doesn't do anything when turning the key, I think I hear a click from time to time. Checked all the fuses and they are good. The only thing I question as far as the wriring is I have a couple of wires by the alternator/starter that I'm pretty sure were from the alarm that I removed. What wires go to the starter and alternator? for the alternator I have it plugged into the harness, the ground wire that connects to the little 8mm bolt and the last wire is conected to the nut closest to the frame rail. Should that one be conected to the nut closet to the block instead? On the starter I only have the power wire hooked up to it. |

| Zilvia Addict ![]() | you probably don't have enough of a charge... check your voltage... if you do have a good charge then try jumping the starter with a screwdriver (get under car and connect 12mm nut to ground on the starter.. it should turn over.) with the ignition key turned... if it works then ur ignition relay or iginition switch is bad |

| Zilvia.net Advertiser ![]() | even if the starter actuated the charge could still not be enough to turn the motor.. i would say tripple check that battery... or even try jumping it.. thats what it sounds like outside of maybe being a ignition switch wiring problem..

| Zilvia.net Advertiser ![]() | sometimes an alarm is spliced to some wires by the ignition switch... check under the steering column and make sure all the wires are good from the ignition switch. When i removed my alarm in my Evo there was a wire that was cut and spliced to the alarm but since i took out the alarm the wire was just hanging.. i hooked it back up and thats how everything worked for me.... its worth a shot

| Zilvia.net Advertiser ![]() | i just relized you said you only have a power wire to the starter.... The starter should have two wires hooked up to it... one is the main power wire from the battery and the other should be a small remote wire coming from the ignition switch...

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | I hooked up the other wire to the starter and still got nothing. This time when useing the screw driver I touched the power wire to a little tab on the starter and the motor would turn, just not fire up. Last edited by BSPerformance; 08-16-2008 at 06:57 PM. |
