Engine misfinring/puttering, HELP - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

Hey guys,

My car was running fine yesterday... Then this morning when i turned it on to go to work it was puttering. Just to give you more detail, it was idling around 500-600rpm, shaking bad, and making a puttering exhaust note. It was really weak too, by that i mean unresponsive and slow to get going.

Any ideas what it is? maybe misfire, bad sparkplug...? Any help is much appreciated...

definitely misfiring.. pull each plug while the car is running to see which cylinder is dead. if you pull each wire try doing a tuneup if you havnt done so in more than a year.. change spark plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, change engine oil.
