Ya im for sure going KA-T since im trying to gather parts right now but the reason why i did this dyno was to have a baseline comparison before its turboed. I have about 60k miles right now on my motor.

proves that no 2 dynoes read the same so you should always go to the same dynotuner so you can compare your gains on the same dyno.

Proves that no two S14s/S13s run the same despite the mods. It's not the dyno.

Or maybe it WAS the dyno... what kind of dyno was it?

This is very important.

Even if they were both dynojets, it could give the same car two different numbers. There are different versions of software, and even with the same software, and with the "corrections" and what-not, if you dyno your car at the same facility on different days, you will probably get 2 different charts. Correction factors try, but they only go so far.

actually SCC had a whole section on it a couple months ago. They tested the same car at 3 or 4 different shops, i think it was a srt4. I dont remember what the difference was between them but there was a difference. The same exact dyno can read different numbers depending on the weather, type of gasoline used, running condition of the car at that exact moment, and a big factor is how good of a cooling system the dyno itself has.

Plus horsepower is a theoretical value anyways. there is no set value for one horsepower. you cant measure a measurement.

Yes there is. It's based off of a formula that uses torque to derive horsepower. hp = (torque * rpm)/5252

It is by no means a theoretical value. Unless you're looking at Mazda brochures.

One horsepower is actually defined as the amount of power required to apply 550lb of force over one foot in one second. The 5252 is a conversion factor...

550 * 60 (seconds per minute) / 2pi (to convert linear work to angular torque).

The difference in dynos comes from how they measure and what they measure, their accuracy, the correction factors used (temperature, elevation, etc). For instance, most chassis dynos work by driving the car on rollers. The Dynapak dyno works by bolting directly to the car's hubs in place of the wheels... this will read higher than a roller dyno because power isn't being used to spin the wheels.

There's nothing too surprising here. Now get yourself cams and an ECU and have some real fun.

So let me get this straight.

Your name is SilviaSR20DET, and you in fact have just a KA with i/h/e, and felt like dyno'ing to show us you still don't make power, and your future plan is to go KA-t despite the name?

I had this name for along time and dont feel like changing it. I was originally planning on getting a sr20det back in 98 cause i had a kouki but never had the funds to actually get one at the time cause i was in high school.
So stop being an assholes and dont waste your time posting pointless replies.

I'm sure glad that OBX is around. If they weren't I would've had to pay twice as much for a hotshot, that's almost identical.

Well, I'm N/A, but the quality of my header was good. Fitment (sp?) was good and weld quality too. I mean, I'm sure they sell alot of stuff that sucks, and I'm not trying to stick up for em, but I'm very pleased with my header.

Oh, btw, pakastani craftsmenship is actually good. At least for cymbals.

Not all OBX stuff is crap. The header is a hotshot clone in SS. I have never had a problem with it.
