Thumbs up The Ultimate BATTERY thread

Didn't see any thread about discussing the battery. We all have it in our cars and it's pretty obvious to have a thread for it I think..

Let's talk about what kind of battery you have and purpose of use and discuss about pros and cons. Also we could share about relocation for those who have FMIC.

If you don't feel like it. Then move along please..

I have a 10 years old interstate battery which just took a shit a couple days ago.
I believe it is for Miata. I had in engine bay with FMIC but planning to relocate to trunk with new battery.

I used it for daily driving + weekend track purpose. Unfortunately I don't have stereo in my car so I can't tell you how it would worked with sounds system etc..

What kind of battery do you use?

just saying...look at the OP of that thread too . Although it's just a list, and people were too lazy to list their applications.

Speaking of batteries, I need to get the holder.

Besides engine bay space, what would relocating help in? Bigger battery I assume?

And getting back on topic, I'm using a Miata Duralast Gold.

i use a Honda size Duralast battery in my trunk.

I have a amp and a single 12'' sub , HIDs and it hold up good,
iv'e had this one for a bout 2 years, on my DD, drive 2 hours a day

I don't really think there is any reason to go with the Duralast "GOLD"

They are pretty much the same except for the price

*i also have a 150amp breaker, really useful for
quick battery disconnect without having to remove
a terminal.

Walmart brand EverStart U1P-7 Lawn & Garden Battery

yup.

350cca. $25.00.

smaller/lighter than a miata battery, half the price.

been working great since october 2010.

regular stereo with no sub, all lights on the car are LED, halogen headlights.

17 lb Braile, can't remember the model number. It's been almost three years since I bought it and nearly two years since I drove my car. It has removable posts on the top and side so it can be mounted in different orientations more easily. It's a small battery so you can't sit there turning the engine over for very long before it runs out of juice. I mounted it behind the passenger seat, but haven't made a bracket for it yet. It sat for 8 months disconnected, but worked no problem when I went to start my car. It's on a battery tender now, guess we'll see how it's holding up when I get home in a month or so.

Looks like this one, but I'm not sure if it's the same.

This is what I'm using in my coupe, it's chillin on the floor behind my passenger seat.

It's worth every penny because it weighs under 4 lbs. The box it came in weighs more than the battery itself.

Optima redtop. I've had it for 6 years. It's been relocated to the trunk for 3 since the swap. Located on the passenger side over the evap canister in the trunk.

I have an odyssey 680. Nice light battery, mounted laying on its side, drycell ftw
As for cons, it is a small battery so same as what sncs14 said about his braille, can't be cranking forever

I just have the stock replacement from Walmart, it dies over the winter but it's got the replacement warranty and I get a new one.

Once I go turbo I'll probably just get a smaller battery instead of relocating.
