rear quarter panel got smashed into by some guy...

going to go tomorrow morning and get an estimate from one of my car insurances body shop(have full coverage) and im just wondering if the other guys insurance company will pay for full repairs on my 4,699 KBB valued car 96' 240sx, guy hit and ran me on a one way trying to cut me off and i found his house 1 hour after i filed police report and called the cops again to get his car towed and him arrested, so hes pretty much fucked.

im not quite sure how any of this will turn out or how much i will be receiving for my damages, so i posted this thread to see if any of you guys had experienced anything like this and either came out good with full repairs or got fucked over and could input what they could have done differently.

thanks in advance , heres the car, and the damage after

accident.

Well Damn lol pic is deceiving...doubt they will cover rim not bein a factory part but sometimes they do...cost just went way up....3000-4000 if they don't attempt to total it never know these days I've had insurance companys pay to fix total losses and total easy fixes...working in a body shop will amaze you sometimes...

damn very helpful , im leaning towards them fixing it , been through a lot with that car hate to see it be a total loss because of some tard who couldnt wait to get home 2min from the place i got hit.

yeah the pic is hard to see , nearest part to the qp on the bottom its bent inward , my door window doesnt sit flush with the trim on the door anymore so debris can fall in it and doesnt seal well also from the trim that connects the driver window to the qp window . its like im talking to the body guy himself lol

Getting an estimate from my insurance companys body shop right now, guy says "im punching the #s in and its most likely a total loss bud" his reason being , my suspension is most likely bent lol , and the qp alone would be a total loss

Judging by the pic (which kind of sucks), I dont see how that could have tweaked the suspension, especially if it was only at 15mph... Lets see some better pics.

i grew an extreme hate for that commercial and car now since i got hit , matter of fact on the way back from my damage report there was a black one stalking me on the freeway lol

4k and take the rest of my parts off the vehicle would be nice , i just got sentimental value towards the car so its harder to let go of her . she will be fixed up and back to norm soon

side note: damage estimator takes 2min to look at my car , takes pics of all 4 corners door vin sticker and mileage and from these 2 minutes assumes my suspension is bent and fucked , zero effort to inspect my car , still helped me out with writing me off as fixable , but i can only imagine what he tells people who dont know anything about cars

got tboned in my 240. te37 scratched. qp dented worse. lca bent. i got 4g from their insurance company. their insurance adjuster kept trying to total my car and i said "YO this is not my fault at all, come back when you have the check to fix my shit." kept coming back with pussy checks for like 800. i showed them my receipt for a 1200/ea wheel and they shit the bed. back up your cars "value" by what some threads sell similar parts/cars for. THEY have to make your car back to the way it was before their client smashed into you. you shouldnt have to take any loss here unless its actually your fault.

took about 3weeks of back and forth but i fixed my car for under 200. bitches.

$3-400 to fix would be a botched half asses job at best... Beat the dent out and slather bondo all over it?

To do it right, would be to replace the quarter panel which would cost way more than $3-400.

Since you said you're waiting on chargespeeds, take off your interior panel near the major dent, and see if you can use the basketball trick to pop the dent.

military oriented or base stickers do not necessarily make the person a 'military guy.' and how do you know he was drunk? maybe he was just a horrible driver. if he was [military] he has to be caught first to get into the deep shit. with all that being said, military or not i hope whomever did it gets caught and i hope he gets hammered hard.

Inspiring me lol , i haven't got a chance to contact his insurance about my accident because he wasn't complying to the officers so the police gave me an invoice # for evidence and info of the guy , went yesterday to the police station.after work but it was closed. I might just have to wait until my next day off, not sure if that'll effect my credibility or not though.

His neighbor who was military came out wondering why i was snooping around his house and that's when i told him what had happened and he said he was probably drunk , and that the guy was military sharing the house with another military guy.

my quarter panel was totally wrecked, so i went to a u-pull it lot, where they let me cut it out myself for $150. I then gave the part to my local bodyshop, I know the guy and he's fixed loads of cars for me, so he cut out my wrecked one, and then welded on the new one 100% perfect, and primed it for me for $500.
