| Nice and clean. Here is my motor after I cleaned it for the first time in about 9 or so years. I say you start out with simple upgrades such as cold air intake and exhaust. If you have enough money... swap it. | |

| Junkie ![]() | OR, you can go ahead and fix all the old crappy stuff. Basic tune-up to make sure everything is working properly and THEN buy the extras. Things you could buy after that is some nice wheels and a suspension setup suitable to your goal with the car. Always a good way to go. And the last thing to remember...zenki 240s are better than all; don't let anyone tell you different. ![]()

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | Well for Free Mods you can remove the airbox resonators and for cheap mods you can do an Intake, exhaust, header, and one i think is overlooked would be Electric Fans.....I would change plugs, plug wires, check the cap and rotor and see if that needs replacing. The question is what Shouldn't You modify heh heh. ![]() |

The biggest bang for your buck, speed-wise, will without a doubt be a manual tranny swap. I put a turbo at 4.35psi on my auto, ran 14.8. The difference in adding 50rwhp or so, and $2800 was 2.6 seconds. A tranny swap, at $750 (what I paid, shipped from AZ to FL) would have dropped me 2 seconds. I'm telling you.. SWAP TRANNYS. -Jeff

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | Uhh, you just got your car, I would suggest getting new plugs and wires, cap, rotor, brakes, fluid changes (engine, tranny, rear end, coolant, turn signal, etc.) Get a 300ZX fuel filter too. The best thing you can do to a "new" used car is to prevent future problems rather than making it "faster." After maintanence(sp?), I'd swap to a manual tranny. |
