My Build S14 Thread... 56K, go lay down

Alright, I've been building this car for the better part of a year now. I originally blew the trans and was just going to upgrade to the Z32 kit Mazworx offers, but I comp tested my motor and found it to be on the lowend of the spectrum. So I threw in my built motor I had sitting on the stand.

This had started as a drivetrain build and turned into a drivetrain and suspension build. I'm not done with the car, but am nearing completion and I'm hoping for it to be done in a months time, work, money and other things permitting.

Motor specs:

S14 SR
8.5 JE's
Eagle Rods
Cosworth main and rod bearings
All ARP hardware
Cosworth 1.5mm HG
Supertech DVS
Toda 264* 10.5mm VTC compliant cams
65mm TB w/ extrude honed IM
PeakBoost TMK w/ 3071R
44mm Tial

EMS:

Haltech E8 w/ patch loom
3bar MAP
Boost solenoid w/ trim knob
LS1 coilpacks

Drivetrain:

Spec lightweight steel FW
RPS Max Street clutch kit
Z32 trans w/ Mazworx adapter kit
1piece steel DS
S15 Helical diff

Suspension:

KW Variant 3's
SPL multi-link arms (still need to order)
Stealth custom fab's TRB
SPL V2 Tension rods
Def's GB spherical upright mounts
MoonFace RC's
Nismo bushings LCA, Diff, Subframe

I'll let the pictures do the majority of the talking, if you have any questions I'll answer them as best as possible. Thanks for looking.

Old coming out...

Modded upper oil pan for Crank scraper and oil catch-can drain back...

Engine assembly...

Motor back in, to current...

I'll get the suspension pictures up next... And I'll continue to update as they become available...

I'm hoping/aiming for 400rwhp on 93, which I believe I'll make with ease.

Why? The bay is clean as it is, it's not hideous like a lot of cars out there. I'm not going for a show car either, I plan to drive the shit out of this car.

more info on the crank scraper?

and to answer lewis, its a lot more effective on the cold side of things (there are a few different reasons, research). The reason why many people have them on their hotpipe is because most after market hot pipes have flanges welded to them because the intercooler piping supplied with most intercooler kits has no flange. So instead of sending parts out to get welded, most people just opt to buy a pipe with the flange already on it.

Too add to this, the factory S14 bypass valve is located on the coldpipe as well. I simple cut off the bent pipe that was in place to utilize the factory valve and welded on my SSQV flange.

Yes, A/C and P/S are a necessity for me. This is going to be driven in daily conditions, so I wanted them retained.

My Fuel setup is as follows:

Walbro, I will upgrade to the Tomei unit if it starts to drop psi on the dyno.
Sard FPR w/ gauge
Sard 850CC injectors in stock rail

I didn't see a need to upgrade the factory hardline, as I'm going to be under 500hp mark.

More pictures can be seen here, Pictures by jr_ss - Photobucket

Here's the front suspension setup. The rear is still at the shop getting the spherical bearings pressed in the knuckles and balljoints/bushings in the LCA's. I'm still waiting for my Cusco tophats to get here to run on the KW's and I have yet to order my SPL arms. I may throw on the factory arms just to get it up and running but, most likely I'll just hold off.

KW's...

Suspension goodies...

Assembled, ready to go in the car...

Mounted in the car...
