s13 safc2 help

just wondering if an safc2 needs an ecu attached to turn on. i wired it up checked everything even had it double checked. but my ecu isn't in the car. was just wondering if it wont turn on just because the ecu is missing.

ecu is not in my possession.

If I recall correctly, it does need the ECCS to turn on. The signal it uses to turn on is the MAF signal, which is provided by the ECCS.

Its a fucking Piggyback, ofcourse it needs the ECU...Its not a standalone computer for the car like a EMS or PFC.

If you only want to check if turns on and thats it, you can simply run the power and ground wires.
But you won't get any readings without an ecu so it pretty useless, it still dosnt mean it works...
