Turbo_dreams build.

So i don't post much about my car here but i'm in knee deep w/ the car at the shop and figured i might as well copy and paste my build thread i posted on my local ny/nj/ct forum, Import FanatiX Car Club Home. As most east coast s13's, mine was another rust bucket. I'm sure many of you know how they leak from the brake line by the drivers side strut tower, well mine did bad enough to make a huge crack through the strut tower. So here's what was done about it:
After dropping the front cross member and stripping the engine bay, it was time to weld up the rad support because it was held on by 1, yes, 1 spot weld.(No pictures) Then we went to the fender aprons. We decided that there was too much work fixing them properly, so tub it instead.

Some blood from our good friend James:

Mock up:

One of the greatest "Father Son" moments I have ever seen!!

Joe (Lifewater) practicing his welding

Keep up the good work Joe, practice makes perfect:

Our late night break with the Ferrari was a blast until we rolled it...

Onto today, the drivers side tub:

My MIG welds are getting better:

Hard Parking it....

Finishing up the welding tomorrow, then onto primer and paint after cleaning everything up.

not bad, just remember to take frequent breaks when welding sheet metal, do about 1" strips and space them out, don't hesitate to take a little break to let it cool. warping metal sucks.

Gonna shoot the bay in a mettalic silver or an s15 silver. The fellow in the dress shoe's my friend joe (lifewater), he just got back from work. Mike, that's at chris's (driver1234) shop, out in huntington. And the ferrari was flipped on the track and i think it caught fire, Yes it's a 360...so light, one person can push it w/ one hand easily. Gonna head to the shop at 5 today and start sanding/smoothing the bay probably, more updated pix tommorow.

Finished the welding, finished the bodywork, finished the rust patches, and finished alot of other things:

GGU (undercoat) time:

Should be painted by tomorrow or monday.

I got no sleep last night being so excited ! So right now i'm feeling:
S15 silver w/ alot more mettalic flake.

http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...=&aqi=&start=0

and Lexus Es silver w/ alot more mettalic flake.

http://images.google.com/images?ndsp...exus+ES+silver

The s15's a bit dull of a silver, but it's still an oem nissan color, but the lexus silver pops nice in the sun, and has some mettalic to begin with. I'M SO EXCITED !

Thanks everyone....silver moss is a nice color but at some angles it gives a hint of green. I want more of a suttle silver that would shine and blind in the sunlight.

Hey man ! Long time, thanks alot for those rb's bro, unfourtanetly after realizing how much it'd cost to build up those rb's to have them running, was a bit over the budget =(....but we passed them along to a good friend of ours who already has an rb25 s14, i'll have him post a build thread once he starts it.

UPDATES !

Putting cross member back on, monster truck status...

Finally painted...
