ok so literally 10 minutes ago i sold my car....sucks seeing it drive out of your parking lot.....especially when there scraping front mount and exhaust on the way out...lol...

so im going to go look at a vert that i might buy RIGHT NOW!

any vert owners have tips on how to tell if the top will last me? i mean like as far as top motor noises...or top springs....i just dont want the top to fail on me a week or two later...thanks.

if you guys think this thread is dump feel free to close it or flame me im used to it..lol..but thanks for serious responds...

yeah i know the feeling. I dont know about verts but i saw a beautiful stock one the other day in Orange county. An old woman was driving her old husband around. I couldn't believe it. But yeah. Nice avatar. who is it? hahah

Check the window in the back, they like to cloud up quick. Make sure the top goes up and down with out you helping it. Make sure no weather stripping is torn or anything, this will make it leak real quick. Make sure it latches well in the front aswell. And aftermarket top is better than a OEM one.

Make sure the points where the top meets the trunk (basically the parts of the top to either side of the bottom of the back window piece) are secured firmly, one of mine came loose.

Oh, and when you're putting the top back up, GRAB THE ROOF AS IT COMES DOWN. When you let it slam, you crack some really rare parts.

Make sure when you open both doors, the belts dont hit the 1/4 window, if it does then its mis aligned , yeah make sure the top goes up and down without any help, and what the guy said above dont let it slam when your putting the top back up..... And get ready to hear people say "is that a real convertible?"

I just bought a vert.
It's so shitty haha.
These cars were definitely not made awesome. have you seen the STUPID amount of bracing behind the rear seats.
HOLY FUCK. HAHA.

Anyway, I'd just make sure the top is in good condition. You can always shut the top yourself if the motor goes out. Make sure the corner windows are intact and stuff.

Just common sense shit.

Another thing that's a cosmetic pain in the ass is the quarter panel windows. The guides are made of plastic and mine have been broken for a couple years now and it really sucks that I cant put my quarters down when I drop the top.

Just check to see if they work.

thnks alot guys......guess what...I BOUGHT IT!!!!!

its white with a off white silvia front end, has HKS coils, and a new KA 5 speed Swap. interior is like 4 outta 10.

as far as the top goes, the actual fabric was very, very clean and in good condition. the rear plastic window was a bit dull but decent. the top goes up and down but it seems a bit slow coming up, but then again thats the first time i seen a convertible 240 top go up..lol........lets see, the hinges/latches latch, but the right one needs some elbow grease to latch....it barley reaches the hook....the little quarter windows go up and down but again one of them takes its sweet ass time to go down.

well that pretty much it...ill post picks up soon...im so excited!!! roll cage with the top down baby! with the A/C LOL! Baller!!! oh and i thin i got a good deal, $3k....not bad huh? needs work though...well ill post pics when i get a chance.

It's good that you need elbow grease to close the top. Just hang on the outside of the roof with your right hand when you close the top.

I just bought a white '94 convertible with a blown headgasket...just to fix, drive a little, then sell.

BUT, I like the thing...I could see keeping it.

sounds like the one on craigslist if im not mistaken.i checked out and i personally dont think it was worth 3k(he was asking 3.5 when i checked it out)interior is shit.the paint was shit with scratchs allllllllllll over and then it had 2 paint can strips down the front bumper......one pink and the other blue lol

LMAO!!! thats the one!!!

the interior is pretty crappy....but the outside needed a wash,claybar and polish....all scratches came off and so did the pink and blue stripes.

outside looks really clean now but the inside still looks crappy, but well worth it i think...silvia front and HKS coils is like 2g's already!
