drifting is more of a rush, after you hit the fastest time that your car can hit, it gets boring, and since your in this thread i would think you guys kno what drifting feels like

This is a drag racer converted to grip.

It really is amazingly better, but grip racing with drag level horsepower get's expensive (setting up the car properly that is).

Still have track outings on hold for quite a while until I get some more sorted

I think the big problem is 1/4 mile tracks are almost none existent in southern cali, if there were more present and they were not obscenely overcrowded, I would do drag racing more often.

It's a good place check a car and driver skill and much cheaper for a track outing, but MUCH less time on the track especially if the car is fast. Then it's a good thing

seeing a half torn bumper at a car meet is gangster.

i like seeing the biggest width wheels with the lowest offset

I am capable of grip, but I would love to increase my skills in drifting.

It all costs money, mang!

Hardparking is the best.

But I also enjoy using my car for transportation and cruising victory laps around the mall.

for all the guys who think drag racing doesnt involve skill yet complain about trying to street 300whp, have no room to talk.

i agree drifting and grip require alot of skill, i enjoy doing both, but i would like to see any drifter try to control a 900whp civic, or a mustang that runs 7's doing a wheel stand the whole way

"a wheel stand the whole way" is that possible without slamming into a wall? is there a way to steer the rear wheels on these 7 sec mustangs?

Girls in South FL. like clean cars. I'm a 240sx/Silvia enthusiast. drifting is cool but it puts a beaten on a car(as far as having hanging bumpers etc.).
I like tucking big wide wheels under the car flush.

I grew up around drag racing... It bores me nowadays.

Few things can compare to running down the 1/4 mile in 10.13 seconds though. Its fucking RAD the first few times, but after awhile, its like, "Hey, yeah, we're going fast again... Cool. Let's do something else." It just gets old.

(For those that may be curious, the 10.13 sec time was in a '76 Vega wagon. Lots of fiberglass, lots of lexan, about 2200 pounds without the driver, and a very mildly build 454 big block putting down something in the 450 to 500whp range. When the car is ready next season, it should be running into the 9's.)
