EVERYTHING under the sun is being discussed...believe me! hahaha. We have a lot of details to go over.

pinks sounds bomb B, but another suggestion would be say King Taco, if you dont know king taco, and you live in SoCal, may Jesus have mercy on you... i know they do event like D1 and FD at Irwindale and Fontana i believe. just another idea to add to the mix...and there more veggie friendly for our non meat eating drift3rs...

my dad wants to come to this as well, but he made a good point tonight at dinner since hes traveled every state in the US on a motorcycle twice. and his point was if it was set in April area, Beginning of spring time, all the peeps coming from the east coast would be in for bad weather, and tornados and inclement weather riding through the midwest.

Nice to see an event planning early enough to get something done.

NWN admin taking notes yet or are they still making calendars just before they take in effect?

Lisa, In 'n Out will send out the truck at like $250/hr if I remember correctly. For everyone coming from out of state, I think In 'n Out would be a much better decision. Pink is good, don't get me wrong, I'm all down for Pink's, but Pink's is some greasy ass shit. *Some* people may care about what they eat, and In 'n Out at least provides the option for grilled cheese (no meat), and protein style (no bun) which is mildly healthier than the standard burger.

Just a thought.

I would have to say that summer would be the best time for an event like this.
For those who disagree, think about it this way.
Summer
+More people (for the reasons mentioned in previous pgs)
-SoCal heat
Spring
+Less People (for the reasons mentioned in previous pgs)
-"perfect" weather
We need to try and meet the needs of all those who plan to come to this event especially those who are willing to take the trip across the country to make this event.
I think we can all put up with three hot a** days for the sake of those who can't make it during spring break.
Besides if you never been to California and want the full experience;
Drifting in the SoCal heat is a must

After reading the 12pg thread, I can see that not everything is set in stone.
Even though it'll be a year before the actual event, I believe we need more time to plan everything out.
Time flies.
Setting the date sometime in the summer will give use the time to prepare for something of this magnitude.

Don't quote me on this but I think we can all agree that most of the 240 crowd are in the age group of 18-25.
Which means many are in school throughout most of the year.
The definition of "spring break" is not the same for everyone for the fact that the every school schedule is different.

The whole caravan thing sounds like an awesome idea.
I actually like the idea so much I kinda want to drive out to the one of the east coast states and drive back to fully experience this whole 240 caravan thing
Sounds pretty bada**.
Those that are seriously interested in the caravan thing should definitely start a seperate thread or something so that you can find out who's going, where they're located, and eventually make rally points at specific times and locations.

The last thing I want to say is that we need to Spread the Word about this event.
I stumbled upon this thread just today without knowing of its existence for over 2 years
Maybe it's because I never check out the Chat threads and just look at the sick cars on the For Sale threads.
But how many other of the 63,110 Zilvian members do you think actually read threads or even sticky's like this one.
Answer: Not that many; just look at some of the ridiculous threads on the For Sale section.
And as mentioned before, we shouldn't limit ourselves to Zilvia.
Tell anyone and everyone!

All I can say is that I'm really stoke for an event like this.
I really hope it happens.
See you all in 2010

-Matt

ill start a caravan thread in the winter, because right now its a year away and i think its a little early for that, and it would just get lost.

i live in a province in the middle of canada pretty much (saskatchewan) right above the dakotas. And im going to head west in canada to vancouver, than head south through seattle and along the coast. But the east places could probably just cruise over Northcal and than all roll down to socal.

I hope to see like a 50 car caravan.

Pinks is the best thing I have heard so far!

As for tacos I can make some great Tacos........
but biggest group I have ever catered to was about 200 people.

I agree with summer being the best time to host the event.

Who cares if its hot? I vote summer of 10' but if its a spring break thing then I'll just have to skip class if schedules don't match up.

Time to snag the f-350 and the 5th wheel. Gonna be a hell of a drive. lol.
