| Zilvia Member ![]() | s14 A-Pillar in S13 (For use w/tweeter) I have seen that some S14's have tweeters in the A-Pillar... I would like to know if anyone has fit them in an S13? Reason: I would like to use the tweeter hole and bracket to mount up some component 6.5's up front. Let me know what you think BTW I have s14 seatbelt so no need for the auto track belt stuff Thanks |

Trader Rating: (5) | Why not just mount the tweeters on your S13 pillar?

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | Exactly... It is not hard, check out some audio forums also. Why would you not mount next to the speaker? If you are running 4x6's then it already will sound like crap. If you modded for 6.5's then take more time and mount the tweeter a few inches next to it. Better imaging also. |

Trader Rating: (2) | And fiberglass them into nice pods. I made some for my friend's s13. I had a couple people ask why their s13s didn't have tweeters stock... and one friend asked when s13's came with a gauge pod stock (before the tweeter was in it) lol.

| Post Whore! ![]() | Flush in the door panel sounds way better than firing straight at the glass on the pillar. The panel itself doesn't have the same contour but you could easily cut and mold just the grille on to your S13 panel way quicker than modifying the whole panel.

Trader Rating: (2) | Yeah, firing at the glass or the dash usually sucks. Some tweeters sound amazing off axis (I.E. fired at the windshield), but chances are if you're asking us, your tweeters aren't of this variety. Just build pods. Its easy. A little t-shirt material, small wooden dowel rod, hot glue, resin, and some bondo.... and you can point them any direction you feel.

| Zilvia Member ![]() | Thanks guys I have some different ideas now. I just didn't want to cut my door panel up... From what I seen in pics the mount for the s14 tweets looks like you can direct the tweeter. Oh well I probably will just get a pair of coaxial's and call it a day |

Trader Rating: (2) | No, the s14 tweeter mount is crappy. It doesn't move, and points at the dash. I don't keep my ears on teh dash, do you? And s13 panels are easy to come by, and easy to cut a hole in for the tweeter. Simple, and actually has half decent imaging.

| Leaky Injector ![]() | yeah usually sounds better on the door panel heres some pcs of what i did to mine. If you want something that sound good then go with the 6.5" they give you better sound than you would get from 4x6". The 4x6" will start to distortionate at high volume levels where a 6.5" will sound much better. Just try moving the tweeter around in diffrent sections of the car and choose where you like the sound and how it will appeal to you |

| [JEFE S14] ![]() | I did a writeup on my S13's sound system - I had 6.5" pods angled across to the opposite side and up (so drivers side pointed to passenger's head and vice versa), and had one set CDT's top of the line 1" silk dome tweeters in the pods with the 6.5"s (as the 'main tweeters') and another set in the A-pillars pointed to fire off the windshield to the opposite side as well (as 'image tweeters', -6db gain compared to the mains). CDT calls this their 'center stage' setup, and it really makes the soundstage seem big (which is huge in SQ setups). The stock positioning in S14s is sub-par, but with a potentiometer on the tweeters to quiet them down (pointed directly across, not playing off dash or windshield), it would sound alright. |

| Zilvia Member ![]() | Im not rally an audio fan just like to listen to music clear. I wanted to get rid of the gap between my door molding and plastic (i.e. S14 A pillars if they fit) While I was at it I wanted to "retrofit" some tweets in the oem spaces. GSXRJordan you have a nice set up man. |

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | I got some base S14 pillars on my SE to cover the holes and installed Image Dynamics XS65 components in the doors, you can mount the tweeter right on the mid so its a lot more stealth and no time alignment is required.
