The AMS car is AWD, I just want to beat the RWD cars They have pro drivers and a better car...no chance anyways.

This car makes babies and grown men alike cry... that is all I can say about it. Fuck AMS... anyone and their mom can make an EVO fast, you're re-engineering a 20 year old chassis to kick ass and take names

Luke,
I'd insure it for 80K if I could

Thanks 98koukile,
That makes spending time on this 20 yr old car a little better

The sway bars are completely done and the second hand Ohlins rear dampers showed up. They couldn't get enough out of the Konis so these Accord rears fit perfectly with Z32 uprights, plus they are externally adjustable. I also mounted the clutch.

First off, I have to say your car is fucking amazing, I got to see it at VIR up close a year or so ago. I hope to see it again and am aiming to get my car on some grip driving action, possibly in December.

Any particular reason you chose accord rears over Z32 rears? I am currently trying to piece together a bilstein suspension and was going with Z32 rears.

Thanks for the compliments. I just got the accords very cheap. The ohlins for any car are hard to find new/used and over 600 each so $100 each for the accord ones was fine with me. Bilsteins would be great. We have a good contact there who revalves stuff for us (if you find a set to use, maybe some second hand ones from an Evo MR). Just look on ebay, here and in other parts of the world. If you go on yahoo japan through rinkya, there are tons of Ohlins for many different cars and can be revalved to anything.

It looks like a great setup is the Koni 2610/11 that others are using for road racing.

you may have already answered this question, but what was involved in making that clutch setup work with the sr? just match splines and bolt pattern? are you using a different flywheel?

great looking setup. i can't wait to see it finished this time around.

Max,
The flywheel was purchased from Mazworx and was used on their previous setup. Its a custom fidanza made to use a 7.25 QM or Tilton. You need a hydraulic TOB and a transmission with a 26 spline, 1 5/16 diameter (a lot of hewlands, Tex 101s and G_Force are this diameter, its called a chevy fine-spline)

Thanks dude. I sometimes wonder what the reaction of a nismo or autech engineer would be. They would probably laugh.

I mounted the rear suspension today. I'll be sending out the Ohlins rear and hopefully have them back soon. Someday the car will be done

Yeah, there is a full set of S14/S15 Ohlins coilovers on Up Garage for 1000 bucks but I have no way of actually checking on their condition, they're also not duel height adjustable, and I'm afraid I won't be happy with the height options on them. Since my car is a street car mainly I want it to look the way I want it to and preform well, so I have to make compromises. I should be able to get the best of both worlds with the bilsteins.

Sickest 240 ever created! I love the fact that about 1/2 the car has been cutaway! This car gives me soooo many ideas on how I want to build my next one.

Thanks racepar1

Progress is moving along on my car. The hood should be here this week and I can finally finish the front end. The clutch is in, TOB is spaced properly and bled. The staubli fitting is in there too, no more leakage and rebleeding when I take the transmission off
On a whim, I decided to make new front lateral and tension arms. I've been wanting to change the old ones for so long. They were not ideal and weren't even the same length side to side. They were essentially modified stock ones where these new ones are made from scratch. $100 in materials and a 9 hours. The rod ends are left over from the old set so they weren't added into the cost. All 4130 alloy.

Clutch bleeder and staubli fitting.

What are you doing for the stock ball joint taper? Did you ream the stock spindle out to a more "common" domestic taper and use some off the shelf stuff, or did you machine stuff to the Nissan taper?

So...

Right Side = Red
Left Side = Blue

Any other reason behind the paint scheme, besides being badassed.

SICK! Those front arms look even nicer than they ikeya formula ones. I'm willing to bet that you might be willing to sell them for less too! I also wanna know what you did about the ball joint taper.

Ummmm, I've never seen a playground made of tig welded chromoly dude! Ever seen the ikeya formula arms? They cost over $1000 for a set of LCA's and they don't look that sexy!
