You're telling me. One of my good friends is going to be driving the car this year at Redline events and should be a lot faster than me. He is a pro and extremely talanted. He knows the maxi needs to be gently massaged.

Its an onboard jack for rallying made by bilstein. It lifts fairly quick but there are other ones that are better now. We had one in the Escort when we were running that and it just slips into either jack post on the side sills. KYB makes an awesome one for rallying but you have to order it from Japan and its pretty pricey. It is aluminum and has a 1/2" drive on it so you just raise it with your battery impact gun when you get a flat on the stage.

Brian,
Its the 110 mounted in the back below the rad. I guess the new pump they came out with (I think the 120) is a lot better. How's your car coming?

A little more progress. Terminated the ECU, EWP and MSD. I'm waiting for more wire, at which time I can finish the rest! I am taking the quickener out of the column so I need to buy some 3/4" shaft to replace it. I might do chromoly tube instead. Engine is next.

I have no idea how nick got that thing running. The wiring was so f-ed and now its great. I can't handle OEM wiring like he can.

Chassis harness is finally done and tested. Engine harness should probably be about 20 hours, then I need to worry about the motor. I have a nice 3 ring binder full of pinouts for every connector so when I die, someone can take over running the car (and when I forget what is what, I can figure it out again)

Wrapped up a few loose ends inside the cockpit. Scott and I also squared up the suspension which was surprisingly not too bad.

so let me ask you a question...

when you need to troubleshoot some of those wires in the future, how do you get to them? if there was a short somewhere somehow within the raychem sleeving?

Otto, That thing is awesome. There are some crazy car haulers in japan.

na man, the wrc is like a zoo over here, every tom dick and harry try to see it, and in the end you spending the day in traffic, i go to a few european rounds every now and again, much better, you get to see alot more and the marshals arnt as strict where you stand plus its cheaper as you have to pay into stages to watch in ireland.

the car is lookin ace, nice job on the wiring, that stuff wreks my head, very neat.

I guess just cut it open. Every wire has been checked and crimped with calibrated mil-spec crimpers so I'm hoping that is good enough to never have a problem. There are no solders in the entire harness so there shouldn't be any issues from vibration over time. I tried to take every measure to not have any issues

Roco,
I figured the wrc round there was madness getting to the stages. From what it sounds like, even local non-international rounds are hard to spectate. I've been to Rally GB three times and each time gets harder to spectate. I'd love to see Finland, Sweden or Norway. Doesn't seem likely anytime soon while running my Nissan as most of the funds seem to find their way into that.

Rally talk is encouraged in any of my threads. Monte is definitely somewhere I'd love to go. I love tarmac setup cars on slippery surfaces Lot of the Irish stages seem to be like that.

Its tough to make it anywhere now unless it's for servicing customer cars at rallies or racing our own cars.
