A Write-Up On How To Use Google for Noobs

Finding out what something in a picture is, is a very simple process.

Step 1. Right click the image, save it, right click it on your computer, and go to "properties" and go to the summary tab, a lot of images have a ton of info here about the pictures origin etc. Vista provides more info than XP and goes into more detail like what kind of camera took the picture etc.

Step 2. If the info you needed wasn't there or you feel more confident a search will provide you with the results you need, start here:

  • Are there any words in the picture?
  • Any numbers?
  • A sequence of letters?
  • A brand name?
  • A logo?
  • What is the object in the picture?
Step 3. After answering all of the above questions, conglomerate them into a search. For instance if its a picture of a turbo stamped with the word fartknocker and the numbers 0875, type "Turbo Fartknocker 0875" into a google search box, and press enter. Do a little looking around, and chances are, you will find your answer.

Step 4. Don't stop at your first result, remember, even if you don't find your answer straight off of your first search, you may find information that will help you refine your search. For instance somebody may post "Oh man I saw a list of manufacturer's codes somewhere but I cant remember where I saw it." in a post on a forum that your first search produced a link to, so now you can search for "Turbo Fartknocker 0875 Manufacturer Code List" and so on until you find all of the information you desire, how deep you want to follow the rabbit hole (or whatever hole your into), is up to you.

I mean come on guys, I can understand posting up a blurry picture of a wheel that you cant quite see with no words on it and asking what it is, but posting up pics of something with brand names and numbers written all over it is kinda like asking where your dick is, you should know how to find it (I say guys, because I dont see any ladies posting pictures and asking dumb questions like "What kind of muffler is this? It says HKS on it.")

PM the owner of that car, j-rok, and ask him.

You obviously saw his posts where he posted those pics, so why not ask the guy that owns those wheels?

ok, but i thought this thread was for identifying parts. obviously if someone used google and searched hard enough they could probably identify anything, making this thread completely useless since everyone loves so much to say use google instead of actually helping people out. the forums would be less cluttered if questions were answered instead of this crap.

It would be even less cluttered if people searched and found the answers on their own instead of being lazy and asking.

to me they look like rikens but im not really sure, and id really like to know the offset of these.
bought em for $25 each (wrapped) off of some guys 280z
how much are these really worth?

and this is what the offset looked like before and adjustments to camber and height and before the hammered fender
