I don't think so dude,
here is the wheel_diagram (Vintage Wheel Works) that should help you understand why More Frontspace = Lower Offset

I might agree with your findings about backspacing but

are you really suggesting that lower offset rims should be used on front of s13(assuming same width rims all around)?

More Frontspace = Lower Offset
I think the reason that the rear can handle more backspace is that the front strut suspension puts the damper smack in the way/very close to the hub. While in the back, the multi link allows the damper to sit almost an inch further away from the hub. And since the damper usually gets in the way before the control arms, its placement is your limiting factor. I don't make suggestions on offset, because that changes with the width of your wheel. But I have reccomended before that if you want to run max backspace and the same wheel at all four corners, that you're going to need a spacer up front. Which, you're right, basically does equate to a lower offset up front.

If you take a zero offset wheel and add 2 inches to the lip (more frontspace):
-the backspacing doesn't change
-the "center" (and reference point for offset) moves 1 inch out
-the offset then must change by negative 25.4mm and your once zero offset wheel is now a -25.4 offset wheel (a lower offset than the zero we started with)

I see what is going on cured13. You are talking about wheel front space and I'm talking about wheel well front space.

Which is the same considering that rim/tire combos like these have an overall tire width practically same as overall rim width. Ideally wheel and wheel well front spaces should be the same.

Any suggestions for an 18x9 +8 / 18x11 0 stagger on a stock bodied S13? Pull/Roll is fine in the rear, and can do overfenders in the front if necessary.

I was thinking 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 in the rear? Think 285/30/18 would be a better choice for the rear? Looking for a time attack/road racing setup.

Thanks!

235/40/17... Is this going on a "SR20DETdatsun510"?? Front ?? Rear??

If so, you should at least run a 17x9/9.5.. But do what you like..

Will probably depend on your tire quality choice..

Not much tire offering in 15". I would say youre lookin in the wrong thread for ideas.

Biggest size 15 though 225/50/15 that ive found
To fit that size wheel and offset you will need like 195 or something and loads of neg camber.

Just get some 17x9's make things easier to work with.

Would this size (18 x 11 +24) work with 315's under stock s14 metal fenders still? Or would I definately need to go with over fenders? I allready pulled to clear 275s and still have room for atleast a 295. But really want to step up the wheel size.

Does anyone know the maximum offset an S14 can run without wheel spacers?

You should know that offsets and widths both affect fit, same with spacers.

READ about it and learn yourself. There has been many times when people ask about "what fits" then they end up selling their wheels because it did not fit as they expected because they did not do their homework.

Forgive me, that was very ignorant of me. I was actually most worried about what kind of offsets I can have before my wheel rubs up against the coilover. I'm interested in going for a wheel similar to the Motegi Trak-Lite. I love the look of both the gunmetal and flat black. The thin spokes and 5-spoke design are very attractive to me. Anyone know where I can get a comparable set of wheels that are more likely to work on an S14? Hopefully while staying below 7" width and 4" backspace? (That's probably too much for anyone to mess with)

TLDR;

Anyone know of wheels that have the same design as Motegi Trak-Lite? KThxBai.

The question you want to ask is what kind of backspace you can have, not offset, 4" backspace will put you nowhere near the coilover. Maximum backspace has been posted in this thread, and I believe its within the last 5-10 pages, the reason you asking what "offset" will work doesnt work, is because two wheels 7" and 8" both with 30mm offset will each have a different backspacing, its dependent on wheel width.

Why in the world would you want to stay under 7" width ?

Well, it's not so much that want to stay under, I just don't want to roll in "Flush" wheels with rolled fenders. I'm just looking for a set of wheels that I can run on in addition to my steelies. Good to know about the backspace, I thought offset varied with backspace but I suppose it doesn't have to. I'm just worried about rubbing suspension and stuff. I don't really want to run spacers either. Thanks for the info about the backspace.

Found 'em.
MAX backspace Front~ 150-159mm
MAX backspace Rear~ 172-179mm

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Why would you not want your wheels flush? You don't want to roll your fenders? Why are you posting in this thread?

265 on an 8 inch wheel?
Anyone know if thats possible?
If not anyone know what the widest you can go on an 8 is? I have seen a few DR's on 8 inch wheels that were 275 or so but never a street tire.

I've seen mustang guys put 300+ tires on stock wheels so I know it could be done but it would be stuffed.
