the basketball way, i hadn;t heard - but they sell these puffer things and foam things that actually go in the fender and push it back out - the PDR guy at the bodyshop next door to our dealer did my friends on both sides - and u can not tell. i jammed a foam blcok he gave me in mine and left it there - lol

the fix is permanent and did not require any paint at all...

Fuck off asshole. If you pump it up and pop the dent out the pressure will pop it right back. That is NOT a dent it is a pressure buckle. In order to fix it you have to relieve the pressure on the panel. That is why people who care cut slits in the inner fenderwell, to relieve the pressure. MAYBE if you cut the slits in the inner fenderwell you can manage to get it to pop out, but without doing something to relieve the pressure you are chasing your tail.

I tried it, didn't work. I didn't heat the quarters though. I am sick and fucking tired of you accusing me of spreading misinformation. Sure I am wrong sometimes, but you make it sound like I am wrong all the time. I spread A LOT of good info around. I help A LOT of people out. What do you do around here? As far as I can tell you just bitch at me everytime I may be wrong or not spot on right, fuck around, and occasionally actually contribute something. Maybe you do more then that and I just don't see it because I do not feel the need to pay any attention to you unless you are saying some stupid shit to me.

Ya I know, I'm just sick of this fucking guy. You wanna tell me i'm an asshole or not "cool", I'm fine with that. But accusing me of constantly spreading misinformation gets under my skin.

I guess i'm just feeling kinda emo today!

EDIT: I gotta take some pics of my new track set-up. 17x9 +17 MB competitions with 245/45/17 kumho v710's! Hardly "maximum", but definitely a good set-up. The tires are pretty dead though, one track day and they will be corded for sure. I'll have the "maximum" set-up when I get the 275/40/17 hankook z-214's on them!

The MB's really impressed me though. I expected them to be a bit on the heavy side, but they weigh 19.2 lbs which is the same as my gram lights. As I recall the FN's weighed a little over 20 lbs.

see what that says ??? its says that you are right on - HALF OF THE TIME.

The thing is - u tell people things you are "sure" of even when you aren't.

The buckle/dent can be removed paintlessly. I help tons of people on this forum in REAL LIFE - I own my own longacre tables and scales, and caster/camber and laser toe - and i tune and fix these cars on an every day basis.

If you look - i even AGREE and BACK YOU UP regularly. Its just the last few weeks u post constantly - even when you dont know.

For the guy that wants to stagger - these cars dont typically like a lot of F>R stagger... racepar1 is correct about that.

These cars do not like to have much rake - so be sure to keep the sidewall height similar.

my friend mentioned to me that the reason why most 240's, if not all, that get the dent is because of the fact that the gas door is on that side.

I'm guessing it's due to the reinforcement the door creates in structure.

we stuck a football in there and pumped it up, worked just fine

235/255-40 Dunlop Direzzas 17x9.5 +7 Origin front fenders - i need either a little more front tire or a little less rear. I am thinking a set of R6's or A6's are in my near future.

i was running 215/45 235/40 but those were too skinny for the big turbo.

That's stretched not maximum rubber haha. With 9.5 you could probably fit a 275/40/17 :S Although ideally you'd want a 10 for a 275

255 or 265 is the most i think a 9.5 should see in the front of a s13. and if you go big out back and not up front it makes it push like crazy.

The best my car ever handled on track was - believe it or not - 245's all the way around. The car looked stupid tho. 245's just look strange. car looks awesome with 235/255 but i still liked the non staggered setup better. (they were on a 9 wide tho)

Yes, non-staggered setup will rock more From a practical stand point, not from a 'show' standpoint.. I'll probably go with some r comps in 245/40/17 myself. I'm running azenis 255/40/17s all around right now.

I actually agree completely with racepar1's current tire/wheel setup - they work perfect on a track -

you should try that same setup (any tire u like tho - victoracers, hoosier, a048's whatever) i was super impressed with it and they're tires you can usually get a set used for dirt cheap if you want to just try it out on a track. I got a set of used hoosiers for free a year and a half ago - they were cool (then my buddy used em to drag race and they actually hooked up pretty good for him).

My 17x9 +27 MB comps weighed in at 20.5lbs on the digital scale. A higher offset should mean the wheels weigh less since there is less material in the hub area. I also have 17x9 +35 FN's and will hopefully be able to weigh them when I switch over to the next set of track tires, but from everything I've read should weigh in the 19lb range.

As for your tires... those are tall and your going to have some clearance issues. With the 275/40/17 RA-1's I'm real close to rubbing everywhere and the car is not even that low. The 245/45/17 R6's in the garage are a good .25"+ taller IIRC.

My 17x9+17 weighed 19.8lbs. Pretty good for the money in my honest opinion. I want RPF1s though.

That is what hppens when you distort meal. What it did was shrunk in on your quarter when you streached uot the edge.As far as a fix without messin up paint?
1 Get a wooden mop handel and cut it off long enough to reach.
2 remove your trunk/hatch pannels
3 Check leangth make sure you can fit it in "its hella tight back there"
4 Tape some raggs on the rounded end and push slowly and easy
any harsh movements will distort the metal again.
Note:Next time start by streaching your fender out by usein a scissor jack w/a pice of wood in your inside wheel tub then jack then another paice of wood about 6 inches long on the insde of the outter edge. This will help by moving the metal out before you move it up thus not bucklein in.Thats how I did mine but Ive dont lots of body work. Its all by feel.Hope this helps.

The scale I used may not be spot-on, but it is pretty close as it is a digital shipping scale. My gram lights weighed the same and that is what they are supposed to weigh so I trust that is is pretty accurate. On top of that the wheels just felt light. I have handled quite a few wheels lately so my "arm scale" is getting pretty well tuned. My FN's were the 17x9 +20 4-luggers and had a TON of hub on them. That is probably why they weighed about a pound more.

I checked with a tire size calculator and the difference in CIRCUMFERENCE is only .06" between 275/40/17's and 245/45/17's. I dunno where you get 1/4" difference in DIAMETER from. If you fit 275/40/17's I can fit the 245/45/17's with no problems. My fenderwells are excessively clearenced for the 255/40/17's that I have been running so I see absolutely no problem. I will be running a 4.36 rear end gear as well (currently 3.93) so the gear ratio difference is no concern. I can't be picky with free tires, and besides they will only last for one event. Then I will be running either 255/40/17 ra1 takeoffs or brand new 245/40/17 hankook z-214's. It depends on whether or not I can find a matching pair of ra1's in time. I wanna run the shittiest tires first and save the best ones for later.

Ehh, I just checked Tirerack on their specs sheet for the V710's and your right they are basically the same. I was going off what I saw in my garage, a 275/40/17 V710 and a 245/45/17 R6 side by side and there was a difference. I'll double check again tonight to make sure I wasn't smoking something last time I compared them.

I've done zero prep on my fenders, so you will probably be fine. I know that I'm within 1-2mm of hitting the front apron with the wheel cranked, but you never have the wheel cranked this far while on track... at least you shouldn't be.

275/40/17's will not come untill the car is VQ powered. I know a guy here on zilvia who is a serious track whore, and an instructor, that wants to go up to 275's from 245's. I trust his assessment very much, but with a kade 275's are simply too much tire for the engine to push.

Ya I have clearenced the apron, front of the fenderwell, pinch weld at the back of the fenderwell, pinch weld at the top of the fenderwell, and the fenders themselves. On top of that all that is set-up to clear my 255/40's on my 17x9 +12's. I don't anticipate any problems there, even though the 245/45's are about 1/4" larger in diameter then my 255/40's. I would rather run 40's, but free tires are good for me.
