This thread is about the people who drive past their skills/allseason's abilities.

And the small amount of people who were unfortunate to have been caught up in an accident that wasn't their fault.

id put my money on the best touge DRIFTER in the world, over any "FLATLAND" DRIFTER. ANY F'in DAY.

p.s. i understand that there are less risks when driving on a track, but some of us dont get the same opportunities. i know its a learning process and whatnot, and ive weighed out the differences between ON/OFF track racing. i just dont see why you guys get so mad/sad/angry/emo/happy when one of us crashes in the canyon. you F'in swear like fools dont crash on the track....yea TOUGE is a lot more risky and it might not be for you, but please do not discourage people from doing it. let people kill themselves.

its not the world that's in trouble, its the people who live on it.

How did I miss this moronic shit? I see a ton of pics from people who can't drive for shit but think they do. I'm glad you all got what you had coming. I admit, I drove like a jackass on the streets too, when I was 16, but then I realized I didn't want to end up killing myself, killing others, or just looking like a complete fucking retard posting wreck pics on a forum because my mad skillz weren't really as good as I thought. You guys keep trying though, maybe one of you will learn to drive before you end up dying.

Boy, your a Jem.

How long have you been driving in the canyon?? getting your skills wired that, according to you will take out Reese Millen AND team orange.

You said it!!!! they are track dirfters.
go get em with those Canyon skills!!

anyways, I stopped that canyon crap, and within 1 1/2 years of track drifting, i was already competing for NOPI qualifyer, traveling for comps, hanging and running tandem with Pro formula D drivers.

sure does beat driving a primer black S13 hatch in the mountains impressing teenage boys.

But thats just my opinion.

Damage after almost 2 years on the track

It still Daily Drives.
You canyon crashes, not so much.

whats all this "im better than everyone else" talk.

yea people crash from doing stupid things like speeding, "drifting", or just trying to show off.
but there are a lot of people who dont go on busy streets to better their skills, not everyone is fortunate enough to afford to drive on a track so thier next best choice is a big open lot, or a canyon with tight turns, honestly a think its mostly for proving to yourself that you can drive by pushing your skills "on the streets". im with everyone who hits canyons and goes sliding in emtpy lots a big open roads. i think its stupid when people canyon thier cars becasue they think its cool and cuz they want to look good amongst others, or same with drifting. tracks are the best way to go but you cant be out there when you work full time or go to school. this is retarded no body wants to hear people complain about why others crash their cars, go start your own thread if thats what you wanna do, heres your title, Lets talk crap about people who crash their cars.

YouTube - Suzuki Alto Works and EG6 4

I got it on video! 6:20

Damage, wasn't bad actually. The rollcage kept the car from taking any of the force. Cracked a tail light and had the imprint of a pole in the hatch.

your retarded dude.

*you aren't gonna get any better in the Canyon.
*You can go over the side and die like my team mates friend last year.
*You can afford track events, you just need to prioritize and plan like all the poor highschool kids, family men, college students that show.
*you never hear people that used to race at the track talking about how the canyon and streets was a good place to practice and made them better.
*But you do hear "canyon" posers talking about how the canyon and the street is a good learning ground.

You Posers will continue to suck till you come out to an event or 2 and actually really drift or grip your car.

And i will talk crap about people crashing their cars for doing stupid, illegal stuff that puts others and themselves at risk.
Those that have legitimate crash story's on here, sorry, that shit sucks!

god I miss rep sometimes.

I miss rep all the time, because it kept the retards in line and kept them from saying stupid things and for breaking forum rules. made people think twice before posting responses and new threads in fear of getting neg rep. Or made people want to contribute positive stuff to the forum for the reward of posi rep.

Eh, you have a strong point however I also disagree to a degree.I know dudes that were never afforded the chance to drive on circuits do to the closest ones being an ocean away and they can drive their asses off.

I also know circuit drivers who constantly talk about what they did on the street and still hit the winding roads. I also know people who drive on circuits and shouldn't be allowed to be behind the wheel of a car.

The ability to learn how to drive a car to the limits and improving yours has nothing to do with location. It has everything to do with how willing you are to learn from your mistakes and to listen to others who know more. Circuits just allow you to push your car to the limits faster as there is more room for error.

If I fuck up I'm going into a guard rail, mountain or curb so I rarely take my car to its limits. I'd rather drive home and fall behind the pace but if I was driving on a circuit course I could go balls out into the turns and the only risk I'd have is getting my car dirty.

Im sorry but I just had to comment on this.

How many drivers in legit drifting competitions came from the canyons? I could throw out some names if I really wanted to but Im sure you know since your from the area thats so "omg dont post the name". If they hadnt started where they did, do you think they would be where they are now? Its not just "canyons racers" and "drifters" that go up there either. Locals that grew up were doing the same shit everyone else was when they were younger. Some still do. Some go up just to hang out. The people that dont know what theyre doing are the ones that shouldnt be up there, and Ive been there when accidents happen. Its always been some stupid fuckoff that crashes. 2 girls in a sebring almost died because they were being stupid speeding past everyone who was just chilling and ended up a foot from going over. The people who I know go up there are responsible about it, however responsible you can be doing that sort of thing. Anyways, it doesnt matter what you think, people will do what they want.

Anyways, on to mine.

Late 2006 I was coming home from school I had a friend following way too closely and driving totally beyond his limit, I had a sticky caliper and locked up my front left when I braked for a 45* turn and he hit me from behind and I hit a truck. Had he not been right on my ass, I would have been able to steer clear of the truck but when he hit me it was game over.

Early in 08 I was driving on the freeway and some asshole in an accord cut me off and then slammed on his brakes when traffic came to a stop, I locked up my tires and tried to make it up the center of 2 lanes and almost made it until I hit the side of a furniture truck which tossed me into a Ford Escape.

i have to be a smart ass about this part... dont call someone retarded when you spell "you're" incorrectly in the same sentence...

but yea i would agree...it is a way better idea to go to events to race/drift your car because it is much safer... but if anyone wants to go to a canyon or something... let em... you dont have to... so dont...

if you cant afford to go to drift events and pay for admission.... then you shouldnt be able to afford to go to the canyons/streets to drift... might wanna use that money that youre wasting on tires/gas elsewhere... if you just like to drift in the canyons because its fun... then ok, have fun...

as far as not getting better in the canyon... just think of where drifting started and how they learned... the japanese didnt have circuits right away... they started in the mountains... and they got better

and i know youre probably going to comment back calling me an asshole or a retard or a noob or whatever.... so oh well...

Like when Will Ferrell's in the car talking about what "San Diego" means in Anchorman.

Don't call someone out on typing if your not gonna put a capitol at the begining of your sentence.
(If thats the only mistake in punctuation and spelling i had, its a miracle!)

No, but when I get pulled over and harrased by the police. It does become my problem. When the police call me a "street racer" and refer to some story about some kid in the canyon, when Im just at CHP trying to get my last harasment ticket signed off.
it does affect me.

the Japanese didn't start drifting. They just turned it into a motorsport. Its been a technique for ever, and been in Movies since the black and white's.

Ouch. clean car and great color too.
Im in Southern California right now,
And the amount of hit and runs and people without insurance is amazing.
My mom got hit and had to chase some crazy lady down in a car chase 2 years ago, lol.

Well, off to court now to handle a "cracked windshield" ticket. I got it at 5:30am after pulling off the freeway to gas up on the way to the track.
got pulled over for car being to low, got harassed for over 30 minutes about being a "street racer", and ended up with a ticket for cracked windshield because he didnt like my vinly visor.
Wonder why all the noobs getting there Akina Speed Star on annoy's me

just don't push it to hard.
Or your never gonna get to the track.

well that sucks for you, it seems that the cops are pretty harsh in cali.. im assuming thats where you are from... which sucks for you guys... but on the other hand, my 350z that i have now, is daytona blue, and has a checkered flag vinyl sticker going all down the side of it...so it looks race car-ish, and i never get pulled over just because, or even looked at... i cant say that it would be the same in california, but between arizona and wisconsin, i dont get any trouble... oh yea, some cops in tucson az are pretty bad...

i do feel for ya tho on getting pulled over for no reason or a stupid reason like the cracked windshield... he was probably just sitting there trying to find something to give you a ticket on...
