• Crower connecting rods
• Cometic heavy duty head gasket

• Apexi SAFC II...soon to be replaced with Calum RT ECU
• Apexi Super Ignition Timing Controller
• Forge diverter valve
• Boost Designs FMIC
• Turbo XS dual stage manual boost controller
• Walbro fuel pump w/Qualude sock.
2) First rebuild lasted ~9mo, 2nd is still running strong
3) No dyno but she ran a 14.04et with the maf maxed out at 10psi.
4) Oil pressure regulator stuck open causing negligible oil pressure, spun one main and two rod bearings. Replaced regulator, and pump housing, no problems since. Advice: throughally inspect regulator or just replace the whole dam thing.
5) Love this thing, same ~28 mpg as long as I stay out of boost, when in boost has a hell of a kick. Spools like now.
6) Link to entire setup/pics :Ligouri Rd's Zoints Profile

I just picked up another 240 to put my '96 engine in. I was toying around with the idea of building it up with 10.5:1 pistons. I could drive it na for a while, maybe sneak it into STS. Then boost it later when my AMS manifold eventually gets made...unless someone knows of some 9.5:1 forged pistons.

Dont have time to build it but here's the parts list so far
Supertech 8.6 .020"
Eagle Rods
Felpro HG (Dont waste your time with a Cometic, it failed already on a Ka-t I built and a SR I helped)
ARP headstuds and mainstuds
ACL bearings
T3/T04E
Revhard manifold
Tial 38mm wastegate
Greddy VSPL FMIC
NX Intercooler sprayer
Precision 880cc injectors
Aeromotive FPR
Blitz SS blow off valve
Greddy Profec B
Zeitronix wideband

...and some more stuff. Shooting for 400whp pump gas. Shouldnt be too hard with a good tune but I cant decide between S14 Calumsult, S13 Calumsult w/conversion, or S13 Emance w/conversion harness.

turbo2nr, I see a lot of people saying their setup is unreliable, what kind of problems do you have? I know your motor hasn't blown, so your having a lot of small issues I guess? I'm a little confused about why everyone says ka-t is unreliable, but not related to blowing motors.

by unreliable its all the stupid little problems, bolts that hold down the turbo comming loose, oil leaks, smoking, wierd rattle and knocks, fuel delivery problems, boost leaks, ect..

normal problems for a custom setup..

1.stock ka with 166k miles,gt2530 turbo,z32maf,fidanza flywheel, ebay mani,370 cc inj, blitz ss BOV,ssa intercooler kit, walbro fuel pump, safc, custom downpipe, ssa dual exhaust AFX wideband.2.been bosted since feb 2007 and 10k miles3.made 266hp 279tq at 11psi4.has not blown up yet!but i only drive her 3 times a week for the past 7 months since a got a new daily(2000 q45t)4. I love the car, am running at 13 psi now so its fast as hell. am waiting for someone to sell their 550cc injectors for good price to up grade and order an e-mance tune to turn the boost even higher!5.i do suggest you do it right the first time if not it will come back to hunt you, like doing your oil lines right off the bat, buying genuine parts , and have a wideband, that is essential . only problems ive had has been with the oil lines and intercooler pipes coming of ,hell the intercooler fell to the floor on the highway doing 100mph one time!

To begin don't mind the name, this has been what I've wanted for a long time now. I am piecing together my build right now, "smaller" setup to make sure my current engine can handle boost before doing a rebuild/upgrade. List will include parts, including misc., that I have, have ready & still need to obtain...

~ Stock Block Ka24De
~ T3 Garrett AiResearch .48/.42 Turbo
~ Custom Log Manifold
~ Greddy Front Mount Intercooler w/ Custom 2.5" Piping
~ Greddy Type S BOV
~ Tial 38mm Wastegate 7PSI Spring
~ Z32 MAF
~ Custom Intake w/ Apexi Power Intake Filter
~ Sr20DeT 370cc Injectors
~ Z32 Fuel Filter
~ Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
~ Black Apexi SAFC2 (Auto ECU)
~ Custom Turbo Elbow
~ Megan Racing Downpipe w/ Flex Pipe
~ Megan Racing Test Pipe
~ BuddyClub Spec II Exhaust w/ NISMO Hangers
~ Denso Spark Plug Wires
~ NGK Spark Plugs
~ OEM Timing Kit
~ Hard Race Motor Mounts
~ Greddy Turbo Timer
~ AEM EUGO Wideband & TRU BOOST Boost Controller
~ STRI Oil Temp/Pressure Gauges & H20 Temp Gauge
~ Apexi SAFC2 (Listed above)

After I see how the setup works, and a year of saving lol, I will then plan on a full rebuild with AMS Advanced Rebuild Kit, Larger Garrett of a .60 Trim range, larger injectors, Tuned ECU, possibly Cams...

Note: This is not installed, but what I am working on at the moment.

This is my g/f setup. Was recently just finished.

96 KA (my old motor)
Megan Manifold
Megan Turbo Elbow
GT2871 .64 (internal wastegate)
RSR 3" downpipe
Greddy Ti race exhaust
370cc Injectors (installing 550cc as soon as aem comes in)
Greddy FMIC
Greddy RS BOV
NGK Plugs & wires
Blacktrax stage2 clutch
Blacktrax chromemoly 11lb. flywheel
Blacktrax intake w/ stock maf & mushroom filter (soon to be MAP)
Eagle Rods
8.6:1 Pistons
Walbro 255 pump
Stock ECU w/ SAFC2 (AEM EMS is on backorder, waiting for it to come in)
AEM boost solenoid
Defi Boost gauge
Blitz FATT

Head is all stock. Block was simply rebuilt with all new bearings, seals etc. Car made 245whp 255lb tq at 9psi on 91 pump. Dynoed on Dynapack3000. Will retune and add more boost when AEM arrives.
Pulls pretty hard compared to my s14sr w/ same turbo. Car starts building 4psi boost at 1500rpm.

put down 350hp at 14psi so far. then my flywheel bolts snapped cause of my z32 trans kit.

plannin for a gt32 by this winter and putting down a solid 400-450hp.

drove it on the track once with a stock motor on just the turbo setup and tune alone. was really snappy and boost kicks very quick. was satisfied with the basic setup compared to my sr.

i blew the stock motor cause i didnt reload the tune on the aem so im currently putting my built motor back in.

Bad ass Engine bay man, very clean, I see you're running a larger brake master cylinder too or it has a larger reservoir... Wilwood?

Link to a build thread or anything would be awesome, I've never seen your car before. Nice to see more KA-T's out there.

Ok def. didnt mean to submit that yet so heres the rest lol.

2. post how long it has lasted
Ive only put a little over 200 miles on it so far. No serious problems yet

3. numbers you've made on the dyno
None yet. Ill be happy w/ 350whp once the boost is turned up and tuned.

5. experiences, thoughts (pros, cons)
So far I love it but am having a little trouble getting my afrs right. Eliminated almost every possible prob. and now think it might just be an exhaust leak. In the future i will probably go standalone though. Seems like it would make life much better in the tuning dept.
Main con is just getting everything perfect as far as leaks, fuel delivery, etc. (like earlier stated)

6. pics are always welcome

Heh, I saw this down at Blacktrax when I went to drop off my Z. Nice 240. The LS1 for my 240 is still sitting in there >.>
