For Sale Rules and Guidelines

The Marketplace forums are a favor to the users, allowing them to purchase and sell items amongst themselves. Zilvia.net takes NO responsibility for ANY transactions made by its users, and advises users to 'caveat emptor' (let the buyer beware). Some users aren't reliable, and it's the buyers responsibility to insure they don't lose their money.

Do not Bump your topic more then twice, please only bump your item when your it’s at the bottom or off the page. Any items bumped more then two times will be closed. If you need to bump it more then this, then revaluate your item being sold and post it again.

This is the For Sale Forum, limit your new topics to items For Sale...otherwise, we have separate forums for items you "Wanted To Buy" or "Group Buys".

Do not trash someone's item they are selling just cause you didn't like it and also do not go in and flame a person because they are asking too much. Use the Private Message to send them a constructive message. You post will be deleted if you cant post anything constructive. Simply do not post if your not interested in the item thats being sold.

No Commercial Selling, if your selling commercial Group Buy then please contact Mark or Bob at zilvia.net@gmail.com for advertising information and learn about our Commercial Group Buys/Deals section on the main website. (This section will be enabled the week of 1/12/01)

No group buys in this forum please, use the Group Buys Forum.

Topics will be moved/locked at moderators discretion.

Signatures

Signature images must not be more then 400x200 pixels combined. Failure to follow these rules will result in your signature being removed without notice.

Depending on file size of the image it will be removed from your profile without notice. Generally, 150KB is a large file. Anything above that will be removed.

Pornographic and/or Sensitive Material
This is a CAR forum. Moreover, this is a private forum which is publicly open to minors. These things mean Zilvia is about the LAST place for pornographic material to be presented. Any material above PG-13 which is either displayed via IMG tags, linked to, uploaded, or otherwise presented will result in ONE warning, followed by a BAN if the offense is repeated.
In addition, any information deemed sensitive such as celebrity phone numbers, social security numbers, VIN numbers not posted by their owners, etc. will be deleted and the user who posted it warned and then banned if the offense is repeated.

Pyramid schemes, etc
Users are not permitted to make money by utilizing Zilvia's bandwidth, other than by selling their parts, etc in the FS sections. Linking to pyramid schemes like freeiPods or freeflatscreens, hits4pay, etc etc WILL result in administrative action without prior warning necessary. If you have the slightest concern that something you're linking to might not be kosher, don't do it.

Grievances
Zilvia is not a grievance forum. If you have a problem with a seller or buyer, settle it with them. If you are unable to contact them and seek further assistance, contact your (and their) local law enforcement.

Ammendment:

If you make a thread, and then bump it twice.. if you are the only poster in the thread, I'm locking it.
I don't want to hear any crap over this.

Also, do not reply to your post saying:
"Replied to emails"
"Replied to PMs"
"Added pics"
"Updated prices"
"Item has been sold"
or anything else that a viewer of the thread can figure out by looking at the thread.

These are all blatant forms of bumping.

If your thread has been updated, edit the title to say *updated*. Edit the original post. Don't tack on extra posts. The fewer users posting in your thread, the less slack I am going to cut you. Our users can and will search for parts. This necessity to get on the first page is rediculous.

Ammendment:

Growing suspicion is that people are using their friends as a way around the 2 bump rule, so we are no longer allowing "free bump"-type posts. All this is doing is allowing people to whore up the For Sale section with posts that offer no value to the thread, proved by their lack of intention to actually purchasing the item for sale. So...

Yes, you will be responsible for getting your friends thread locked by giving "free bumps." DO NOT make these posts.
If you are giving free bumps maliciously as judged by us, you will be removed from the FS forums via pinking.
It's a simple rule for posters. Do not bump your thread more than twice. Something on page 2 with todays date will get very nearly the same exposure as on page one. Something on page 5 will show up when a potential buyer searches for it. Do not ask friends to bump your thread. It will be locked as if it were yours.

Now.. what to do when someone maliciously gives you a "free bump" to get your thread locked:
Press the REPORT BAD POST icon in the lower left of their post. It is your responsibility to react if someone is maliciously bumping your item. However, if someone gives a free bump and you could use it, it counts as one of your posts.

What happens when you report a poster for the Free Bump violation:
Their name will be marked down, and after a pattern of violations emerge, they will be pinked.

Now, as retarded as it is for me to have to make this post, it's more retarded that a few users decided it was necessary to figure out how to skirt one of the few rules we have on Zilvia.
However, we're dead serious. This will not go on, or users will be punished.

If you have pics of the items you're selling, put them online and link to them or hotlink them in the thread.

If you don't have pics, don't worry about it.

If you do, put them online. I'm tired of seeing threads bumped ad inifinitum by people seekings pics of items. (like this: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=102751 )

Don't complain to me that you don't have a program to resize or hosting, because I have your excuses handled.

REMINDER:

2 BUMPS PERIOD! This is not PER DAY! Bump more than twice and it is locked.

This includes:
"pms replied to"
"bump"
"ttt"
"all questions answered" ect.....

If you aren't reading the rules you're asking for your thread to be locked. Do not get your buddies to bump it for you either, again it will be locked.
If you thread is locked for excessive bumping, you may re-post in 3 days with new pricing. Like the site owner has stated, if you have to keep bumping, then you need to re-evaluate your pricing. And last but not least, a friendly reminder that external links to other for sale pages are not authorized:

eBay
Craigslist
other car forums.

Please post all info in your post here, and it must include pictures when you post it...not a week later. If your entire post is not ready to go (all info, pricing and pics) then please delay posting it until you are 100% ready.

***ALSO***

The items you post for sale must be IN YOUR POSSESSION and owned BY YOU! No more posting something for sale for a friend. This is too easy for someone to scam another member. We hope you understand the reasoning for this, and all post listed as such will be deleted.
