Exclamation SS Autochrome = No

SS Autochrome = NO/Dissappointment

I ordered an exhaust a while back from them. My card was never charged nor was I ever notified of a backorder or cancellation of my order. I attempted to email and fax them numerous times but got no response.

They say that if something is backordered for 30 days, the order will be automatically cancelled. I'm guessing my order will be cancelled soon but I would atleast like to know before I go buy a different exhaust. Here is my receipt. I know this is not a questions forum but I have to ask if anyone has had a similar experience with them, bad customer service so far ...

I bought headers from them and they didn't even come close to fitting. Must've been the first ones they ever made

SSA = no.. but people continually let their cheapness affect their purchases.

Friend ordered a KA bottom mount in order to bolt up a t28 + sr20det downpipe. Recieved a topmount.. which requires an additional pipe to be fabricated, and won't work with the t28 he owns.
After spending 2 weeks emailing and trying to get the right manifold, he left them neg feedback. Here's what he got in return:
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...&userid=s_86_d

What the hell are you fools dealing with these people?

At the present time they are the only ones that support a "mate up to sr20dp bottom mount mani". The manifold wasn't for me but It's my neg feedback (Had to help a friend hide a car part purchase from wife.)

I guess a ka flange and a bottom mount sr mani is the win but tampa area has only one good tig welder for hire, so hard lesson learned.

wow man, sucks about ya'lls bad dealings with them. I bought my mani about 2 years ago and has 0 problems, everything fit, and still looks functions great. Looks like they may be outsourcing the dealers to move more product. ???

cant post ebay links. but on the topic i got the same exhaust from them more than a year ago and had no problem at all. i thought it was well made and was a really good exhaust for the price. shit happens once in awhile. stay away from their manifolds though, i heard that they tend to crack.

its a hit-or-miss.
some have good, some bad experiences.
bad things about a company, however, does tend to spread faster than the positive side.

Bought a ka t-25 manifold in october '04 with no issues.

Bought an s13 dual N1 exhaust in sept '05 with no issues.

Bought an s13 fmic in oct '05 with no issues.

My cousin bought an s13 fmic w/full piping kit in sept '05 with no issues (nice fitment too).

All items were purchased through ebay and paid by either postal money order or paypal. Communication via email was excellent and shipping times were quick (NC to NV).

Ssa

I ordered a few of their manifolds (silk road style, which isn't anything like Silk Roads...but anyways....) and all are of good quality. I am on a T78 one now, they appear to be about the same quality. The T78 one cracked already.

bought a turbo back in the day, (2 years ago atleast) just because they are a local company, I live less than 45 minutes from where they "claim" to be, so I called them, "hey can I just stop by and pick up what i bought?", "no, we only ship stuff",
to me that sounds kind of odd, but ok, finally got the turbo, but the trims were completely different than advertised. waste of money. but I learned my lesson, I tell everyone I know to NEVER buy from them,

good friend of mine had a car that he put a SSAUTOSHIT turbo kit on, the car ran perfectly b4 he installed it, we compression tested it b4 the install, we double, and triple checked everything! it still didn't run right, and about a week later the engine was shot, on top of the fact that he hadn't ever taken the engine past 4k rpm.

I've heard too many horror stories to say anything good about SS.
