Osaka JDM Motors

Ive heard some bad things about them in the past but never dealt with them personally until recently.

Basically I had 3 customers order SR20DET motors from them. 1 red top S13, 1 black top S13, and 1 S14 SR20.
1st the red top S13 came with broken injector and damaged throttle body. These things can happen sometimes in shipping so the customer contacts Osaka and go thru their waranty process. 2 weeks later he gets a replace throttle body and injector. Customer says Osaka had horrible customer service.

2nd motor is the Blacktop S13. Looks pretty decent except for a bent throttle body and smashed oil pan.

3rd motor was the S14 engine. This motor has many problems. 1st, the oil pan is damaged and leaking oil. 2nd, throttle body is bent. 3rd, a few of the harness plugs are broken beyond use. 4th, plastic spark plug cover was broken. 5th, a chunk of aluminum is broken off the motor but we're not sure where it came from. 6th, The wastegate and turbo pipe is bent about an inch inward toward the motor. the To top things off, whatever clutch was in it previously was taken out and a stock looking clutch/flywheel that has TONS of rust was put in. He calls Osaka and they ask him to send pictures in and they will investigate. He sends pictures in and a week later no return calls so he tries to call them and they keep saying they will call him back but they dont. They have not said they will take care of the problems. I know some of these things are minor and very well could have been damaged from shipping but just thought Id share our experience with other people here.
Right now I would not recommend Osaka Motors to anyone.

Osaka is known to have the worst customer service, shitty motors, but the cheapest. I doubt they will do anything as they never do. You realize that they probably don't care about bad reviews because their prices are so cheap they will just keep getting business. Too many cheapos out there that will just risk it. I guess thats life...

So Glade I went with Ls1 instead of a Osaka SR20. Going to send them money then I found out that they have well over hundred complaints, but since there in another country not really to much you can do about it. I would recommend www.illgarage.com for SR20 West side of Chicago. great service good people to do business with
