Trader Rating: (12) Feedback Score: 12 reviews | Powered By Ford I feel the need to get a few things out of the way first... First, if you're a LSx dood, and think they're gods gift, then you can go over to the LSx section and stroke each other off over there... Second, This is NOT going to be some "bawlah" build that's going to be fininished in one week, this is going to be an everyman's build, like all my other cars... only difference between this one, and my other builds some of you know about, is that this one has been attempted, but never completed. Now that's out of the way, shall we dance? So, I got this S14 Origin'd out shell from a local guy for about $1500 invested... ![]() and the daily... ![]() int shot, dash is out, getting prepped to be wrapped in lime green crocodile vinyl... ![]() The bay, fully wire wheeled to the bare metal, seam sealer trimmed away, and clear coated to maintain raw metal look... ![]() Got the Chassis harness brought down to bare essentials... ![]() To get it ready to drop this in... ![]() That's a 1998 Lincon MKVIII all aluminum quad cam 32 valve 4.6L ford engine, basically an all aluminum Ford Cobra motor. Trans behind is is a 01+ Mustang GT/Tremec TR3650 5spd transmission. switch panel to control basically all aspects of the actual operation of the car... 'Mericuh... ![]() Yesterday I picked up some Driftworks front lower control arms, which should go pretty well with my modded knuckles, PBM inners w/rack spacers, and SPL outers. Off to go pick up some more parts, I'll be updating this as I go along... Enjoy.

| Premium Member ![]() | I am a huge fan of the way Fords sound. Just sold this, loved the power and sound, didn't care for the handling. OP, if I am thread jacking, let me know and I will take the video down

Trader Rating: (12) Feedback Score: 12 reviews | ^You're all good man! As this has more or less turned into a temporary "discussion thread" vs a "build thread." for the time being. Fords have ALWAYS sounded better, granted, they don't make the the power of a LSx as easy, but that's W/E to me. you can always hear a mustang, a mile away, something you can't do with a chevy. Although all my nissan stuff is on liquidation, I'm hanging on to a few key things. The motor, and the trans. There's a potetntial I may keep the shell, or my buddy has a butt naked S13 coupe shell, either of which, i can still use to tinker on, get mounts made, and keep at least a slow forward progress so when I do jump back in, my power plant will be ready. The motor I have will be kept, torn down, and most likely built with OEM 03-04 cobra internals, the "Terminators" were hand built engines, with Manly rods and pistons, and a forged crank. all of which can be picked up SUPER cheap. Hell, you can get a OEM 03-04 twin plate clutch for around $350... WTF cheap. I watch a show called "Fast 'N Loud", they recently did a 67 ford F100 with a early MKVIII engine (the 280hp/285tq engine). After simple things like fat plug wires, hot ignition control, headers, full exhaust, and a flash tune, it made like 335hp, and 345tq... Not too bad for a "stock" $200 junk yard engine.

Trader Rating: (0) Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I am interested to see how this turns out. You have the same mindset I had going into my 302 s13 project, something that the majority can afford. Have you planned out your sterring rack/motor mounts/ oil pan? |

Those DOHC engines, when equipped with long tubes, make one of the most beautiful sounds on the planet. I contemplated the same swap myself, but I just love the simplicity of the 5.0/T5 combo. I'm gathering parts for my swap already. I hope to have it done by next spring. | |

Trader Rating: (6) Feedback Score: 6 reviews | It's been a dream of mine to through a 4v motor in my 240. I own a 2000 mustang right now. Going with any power adders ? I know you can swap over the termi blower on that motor and get some nice gain, but it will sit high.

Trader Rating: (0) Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Very neat build! Definitely interested to see it come about! Actually, you can't. 98 Mark VIII motors used what is referred to as twin-port cylinder heads, or "B" heads. The ports are totally different than the 99/01/03/04 Cobra tumble-port cylinder heads, or "C" heads. As such, the lower intake manifold for the blower doesn't mate up at all, and there is currently no adapter available. Additionally you have to change the front cover as well there being quite a list of other items and modifications needed even if you were starting off with the correct cylinder heads. In terms of ease of installation and cost, you're way better off just buying a used centri supercharger kit on these motors.

| Zilvia Member ![]() | Thats crazy^ you're on here Tabres, I remembered your name and white cobra as soon as I saw your post. I used to be on SVTP all the time, I had a BAB IRS swapped 98 Cobra. I moved on to 240s because they're way more fun. But as far as SN Cobras go, you had one of my favorites |

I lurk around here quite a bit in the builds threads. The Nissan community seems more willing to go out on a limb and try new, fun things. Way more how-to's, in-depth pictures, etc.. Just more interesting, honestly. Mustang boards get so boring. Endless pages of dumb, repetitive questions and people that freak out if you have anything besides a traditional 5-spoke design wheel. Sorry for the tiny thread-jack, OP! ![]()
