450sx awd....

Well this is my goal a VH45de powered AWD 97 240sx. Started off as a base model and I did a 5-lug/300z front brake conversion. Pulled the engine to put into my son's 91 240sx se that he is learning to drive (pretty cool first car to me). Well enough talk here are some pictures.

At this angle it looks impossible.

At this point it seemed impossible.

Here it is as far as I can get it without cutting things!

Here is the shot of the skyline transfer case I have to make room for. All cutting will be forward of the seat rails so I am excited.

Here is a shot of the kinda built VH45 that will be going in permanently.

I look forward to all of your comments and hopefully HELP. I am new to the 240 world and decided to go all in.

I swapped bell housings so I have 300z tranny with rb bellhousing available...

My hope is Maxima Knuckles, same suspension setup as 240 with everything you need for the fwd portion... So far the difference is the steering arm location. I will get them bolted on soon and take some more pictures. That and pulling the interior for the floor pan mods.

I've been kicking this idea around for a future project for a while now. Very cool to see someone actually tackling it! Good luck!

Do you already have a Skyline front sub-frame to house all the fwd bits?

Thanks a lot of good info. Wish the pictures were still there. Yes my plan on the attessa is to use a carpc with inertia sensors to PWM the hicas pump gving me 50/50 split during takeoff and dialing it back in the turns. It will take a lot of seat time to get the percentages right and I can always have an on/off switch to make it just work at first.

Trying to put up a thread in the Wanting to Buy section but got rejected. Anyone know where I can get an r33 Crossmember at? Tried ZeroLift, Rawbrokerage, and a couple others. I would think that they would be a dime a dozen with no one attempting AWD conversions.....

Try Import Performance Shop. They are advertisers on here. Calling them is the best way.

I have been trolling for a long time. I didn't want to jump the gun with posting this build up until I was about 90% sure I could get it started and actually done.

Oh also for the transmission I upgraded to a 370z clutch fork. Way tougher than factory 300z or GTR.

Talk to Full Race, they built an AWD powered RB S14 so it's definitely doable just going to take some serious engineering. Good luck!
