Sorry I havent been updating, I have been extremely busy with the 2012 build!

DMCC round 7 weekend. Was in Quebec Canada at I Car, Easily one of my favorite layouts. I was entering with a 4th gear clutch kick against the wall and a little e brake to tune angle. it was the fastest entry of the entire year!

Practice was going great!.... untill my alternator quit on me, with no spares in sight we had to strap a booster pact to my car so i could continue to drive, it was a 2 day event so i was hoping to find one that night and fix the problem for competition the next day.

we head out back to practice, do some great runs, then my clutch started slipping!! I was thinking to myself (you got to be kidding me!!!). all the 4th gear clutch kicks took out the stage 5 clutch in 4 events, I was pissed but had to deal with it. we get the car back to the pits to pull the transmission, the clutch disk was toast and we didnt have a spare. We asked around and no one had one ( I swear when you dont need parts, every one has what you need) so with 20 mins before qualifications we had no alternator or clutch. we just pushed the car in the trailer and partied real hard that night.

2011 competition was done for me. My team mate Pat Cyr was heading to California for Formula drift round 7 at Irwindale, so i tagged along to help with the 8400km round trip. It wasnt my first time doing that drive or my last. I love Drifting because all of the road trips and seeing the country is pretty rad.

along the way we took a pit stop, here is me looking at some rocks

looking at another rock

i guess i liked looking at rocks that day haha

on the way to Cali we stopped for the night in vegas, after driving around we found the cheapest hotel in vegas at circus circus haha 32$ a night after taxes and it was DECENT!! spent the night partying, played some black jack won some cash.

In the morning we headed out to california. its like 3-4 hours from vegas, when we got there we called up Alex Pfeiffer and headed to his shop (Battle version) his new shop was pretty dope

Irwindale happened, Tony Martin, Andrew Goodman and I watched it on top of the tower, the view was amazing!!

got back to the hotel. the hotel got wrecked haha fd drivers know how to party!

fast foward a week, Im back home in Canada, and Drift ops was holding a practice day in 2 weeks. so i had to get the car ready for one last day oh mayhem!!

I got an exedy twin carbon because i was sick of having clutch problems

So we get to Shannonville. we brought 20 something tires, we were prepared to party!!

popping some flames

so after this day i took a break from cars, too much cars gets old real fast. My break only lasted 2 weeks haha, had to start the 2012 build. the first event is April 21st!!

I only have one complaint about your car: the wheels. Some colored wheels would really finish it IMO. Cool build otherwise though.

Ok so to get you up to speed on the 2012 build for the 2012 racing season.

We needed a New Engine for 2012, With everyone and there grandmother going V8 we decided to do so aswell.

haha YEA RIGHT!! we kept the SR20!! WE LOVE SR'S!!!
My block was sent over to Mississauga engines with new rods, new pistons, all new arp hardware, new cams, springs blah blah blah

The head was ported to the max! Mississauga engines cut one on my scrap heads in half to check tolerances, The end product was the best flowing head you can have. The pistons, combustion chamber, exhaust and intake runners were all ceramic coated. to help spool the turbo. I wanted to raise the compression even more! I went with Arias 11:1 custom pistons.

here is our 11:1 pistons vs the stock 8.5:1 compression ratio pistons

We knew we had a great car! but it wasn't reliable, Reliability is the Key to wining! so we decided to ditch the entire Electrical system. We decided to go with the AEM EMS4. its an universal standalone for 4cyl engines

For the Chassis Harness, We decided to use a Painless unit for a trouble free install! Our New Sponsor AV Fabrications Helped us out with a Full Chassis and Engine harness! Using only the best! Raychem DR25 and Deutsch connectors EVERYWHERE!!

Here is the switch panel I made! thats right, this year we are using ANTI-LAG and 2 step launch control is for some fun

Im really loving this read, You put so much effort into your cars and so much focus on the sponsors and getting back out there and not just calling it quits after all your bad luck.

I hope 2012 is better for you and the car runs reliable.

But i must wonder why did you go such high compression, Now that your going to have to run lower boost amounts your also going to need to make sure your engine cooling is spot on else you will cook the thing!
Also dont really see a need for Anti-Lag it definetly isnt going to help out with reliability lol!

I only want to run 15-18 psi this year. We are using E85 so that will drastically lower temps and give us more low end tq.

the high compression ratio help with out of boost power. trying to make the car feel more like a boosted f20 S2000 engine.

as for the anti- lag, my new tuner has been tuning crazy SR swapped cars for over a decade and knows secrets to make these things more reliable then then your hand on a lonely night

getting rid of the ignition cut will also help reliability and the new 1100cc injectors will give it all the fuel it needs

we also sent exhaust components out to get ceramic coated to help spool the turbo

here it is after I sandblasted them

here they are after, BLING!!!

Ah sick man, I would of expected 18PSI will be nice on a turbo off that size with your compression, seems like you guys have got everything checked off nicely E85 will really give you some great results!!

Is E85 via Pump over there available or do you guys get it via Drum to get a better consistency with it?

I expect a dyno sheet when done, cant wait to see this thing

Dude, get some solid lifters if you don't already have them, it should make your engine a lot more reliable, and it will be able to rev up to like 9,000 rpm. lol

the head is fully built. the engine is capable of 9000 rpm but we keep it at 8000- 8200 rpm for reliability issues

the E85 is available all across America at the pumps. but in Canada there is only 4 places to get it, and one place is 4 hours away from my house.

But luckily enough we travel to the States pretty often, so it isnt a big deal

So 2011, the rear quarter panels got pretty banged up.

we went off to find a donor rear end

cut it off

and brought it home

got the car to the shop and cut my old busted rear end off, i like this look haha

I though might as well make the rear end removable, so we made it bolt on

do you mean getting rid of fuel cut and using an ignition cut instead???

Great choice with the EMS 4 so damn small those things are sexy. I would be using that as well for my sr20 E30 but needed a few extra outputs it just didn't have so ended up with V2 aem. Great build, work and determination my friend, most importantly it sounds like you are having a good time throughout the entire experience.

I use to have a power fc. and the ignition cut would pop rockers often. we are using a fuel cut this year to help with rocker issue. we will also raise the rev limiter

We wanted the car too look good this year. So we decided to get some LS1 in this build

LS1 the color code
First off, was to drop the car off at Diamond One stop auto

after some prep work

the finished product, DEEP FUSCIA, looks soo f'ing good!!

looks so dope!

we got some goodies from ASD!

we picked up a new sponsor for 2012, NEO motorsports has a full line of coilover suspension, Big brake kits, wheel spacers, shift knobs, lug nuts etc etc. all high quality parts

here is our new shift knob

our new lug nuts

and our 356mm , 6 piston big brake kit!! this picture shows are old setup vs new

We needed the best we could get for suspension

we settled on Drift works Geo master knuckles

and adjustable sway bars, progress rear and white line front, (progress front is on back order )
