Trader Rating: (0) Feedback Score: 0 reviews | well here we go... All of my previous 240's have been N/A ka's or ka-t, well i had a slight change of mind! this is going to be my last 240sx that i own! so i'm going all out.. well i'm going to try and go all out... so i came across a complete '08 vq35hr drive train, ecu and harness.. i got in touch with a local shop (ONE MOTION), who have done a few vq35de swaps. this is the build! The car i started off with! ![]() the ka that went by by! ![]() Vq35hr drive-train ![]() Vq35hr in! but there is a slight problem.... its crooked and the starter is sitting on the rack... ![]() now there were a few remedies that we could of done...one raised the engine up! but then i would need a ridiculous cowl hood! two clock the rack, but the column would have a drastic bend, that would most likely bind. 3 RHD swap... now i know allot of you are going to say that there has to be a cheaper or less drastic remedy! McKinney says add a 3/4" spacer between the D/S mount and the block, but the motor then sits even worse. so a friend gave me a great deal on a complete rhd clip. In my eyes this was the best way to get it done... Vq back out ![]() gutted fire wall ![]() rhd clip ![]() ![]() Someone stole my firewall! ![]() ![]() new firewall in place ![]() column bracket in place ![]() rack in! ![]() more to come later! I love mine just a de though. I've seen some other guys do some odd ball starter spacing/machining to fit the starter. I probably would of spaced it also, I run a 1" hood spacer setup on mine and it's really not that bad imo. Lots of work to fit a starter haha. Good luck with your build. Oh yeah, one of the other things we did on early LS1 swaps was lower the crossmember with shims, then you could shim the engine up and clear the starter.
