lol, I didn't know anyone knew about that outside of Michigan. Awesome! So yeah guys, my wife and I had our daughter on Friday at 2:27 PM. Kinsey Reese, 7 lbs. 13 oz. Mom, dad, and baby are all home from the hospital now and doing well! ![]() Obviously I haven't really gotten anywhere with the car, BUT I do have an update! Yuta told me yesterday that my rear wheels are there and ready to be adjusted. The front lips are finally done and the wheels should be returning to me as a complete set sometime in the next week or two. Looking forward to having all four wheels and getting them on the car! | |

Trader Rating: (112) Feedback Score: 112 reviews | LOL @ Mike. Thanks a lot guys! It's a lot of fun for sure, aside from the fact that she sleep ALL day and is crying ALL night. ![]() I just got the word yesterday that my hood is painted and ready to be picked up, so hopefully when things slow down a little bit I can pick it up from the body shop and toss it on next week while I am still off of work. I also got my Ikeya Formula FLCA in the mail yesterday: ![]() I need to get some Ikeya Formula tie rods and ends to run with them (I think- if you know of an alternative, please let me know!) so it might be a while before I install them. Hoping to use them to correct roll center up front and add camber if needed to look correct with the rear wheels. |

Trader Rating: (112) Feedback Score: 112 reviews | ^ Cheaping out yet again, lol. I picked up the hood from the body shop yesterday, and I am really pleased with how it came out. They did an awesome job with filling the old aerocatch pin holes. I had a chance to toss it on the car last night while the little one was snoozing, but I still need to finish the hood pin installation. I think it looks even better than I thought it would though! ![]() ![]() ![]() I still need to add the small rubber hood bumpers on the core support and strut towers- I think that might help a little bit. For a DMAX hood, I think it fits pretty well though: ![]() ![]() So yeah, not the best shots as it was getting dark out and whatnot, but I wanted to at least post some kind of update for Mike. I'll be making a list of loose ends to tie up before Another Level in Chicago on the 28th today, so hopefully my wheels will arrive in time to work all of the bugs out on the car and get it to the show without breaking down, lol. I'll keep you guys posted when I can! |

Trader Rating: (2) Feedback Score: 2 reviews | That post made me a happy camper. It looks great painted, I didnt know how I felt about the contrast of Carbon/Black on your car. I have my own hatch now like I have originally planned on building, ditching the coupe and starting over with a low mileage chassis. This thread keeps me motivated! Mike |

Trader Rating: (54) Feedback Score: 54 reviews | Hey Damon, I hate to bring this up in your build thread, but do you mind PMing me the tracking information for the car transport service you used to ship the car out here? Hopefully we can change the name of this thread when it gets here. Sheesh. So happy for you guys by the way - you know that already. |

Trader Rating: (112) Feedback Score: 112 reviews | Thanks a lot guys, I am really happy with how the hood came out as well! Quote:
----------------------------------------------------------------------- So yeah, I have been slacking lately. Baby life is kicking my butt! Tired all of the time, and I don't usually end up with much free time to sneak into the garage. My wife has been awesome though, and she has been giving me a little bit of time to get some things done. Last week before returning to work, I got the hood pins completely installed and sitting correctly. This actually turned out to be a pretty big pain- I think it took me over an hour to get the passenger side sitting right, but the driver's side went much more smoothly after that. I am using both the Cusco hood pins and the stock hood latch. Yesterday, I got some goodies. My GP Sports tie rod ends showed up, so I will install those when I do the Ikeya Formula FLCA later this summer. ![]() I also got some goodies from Russell at NissanParts.cc yesterday- a couple of NISMO oil filters, the rubber hood bumpers that go in the engine bay, and another Tomei coil pack cover. I sold my S13 coil pack cover a couple months back when I got the stuff for the S13.4 valve cover, but that project has been taking longer than I anticipated. I wanted to have a cool coil pack cover for the show next weekend, so Russell hooked me up! Here's a crappy shot of the bay as of this morning. The hood bumpers made a big difference in the way the hood fits- it's a lot more flush with the fenders near the headlight covers than it used to be. I got the intake back in and all of the other loose ends buttoned up enough for the drive to Chicago for now. More -AN stuff and other doo-dads will be coming, but probably not until the fall at this rate: ![]() I'm going to hold off on figuring out how to mount the ARC intake until later this season as well. At this point, I just want the car to make it to Another Level in Chicago without any major issues along the way. WHEELS: So, I talked to Wheel Flip yesterday. The front wheels should be assembled and on their way to me in time for the show next weekend, but it doesn't sound like my rears are going to be done in time. As it turns out, my rear wheels were actually 18x10.5 +10, instead of the 18x10.5 +20 that I had originally requested. That explains why the camber change was SO drastic- they were +15mm more aggressive than my TEs instead of +5mm. So, pretty bummed that I probably won't have my wheels done in time for the only show I am going to make it to this summer, but it is what it is. If they are not done and in Michigan in time, I am probably going to bum my old CR Kais and use those. It just sucks to have to "debut" the car with 9 months of changes on the wheels it had two years ago, lol. Oh well- it is what it is! I'll keep you guys posted- should be exciting when the wheels finally arrive! Last edited by CamryOnBronze; 07-19-2012 at 08:18 AM.. | |

Trader Rating: (112) Feedback Score: 112 reviews | ^ thanks guys! I finally got the car back on the road yesterday! My wife was cool enough to hang with Kinsey for a while so that I could head out into the garage and get some work done. I went out to Grand Rapids on Saturday morning and got my old Work CR Kai wheels back from a friend. I sold them in late 2010 to a friend of mine, but he never bolted them on his car or anything. He ended up selling them to another friend who wasn't five lug yet and kept them in his storage unit for the last year or so. They still had brake dust on them from when I owned them! Pretty funny, lol. I'm using the wheels and tires temporarily so that I can drive my car all this week to work the bugs out before heading to Chicago Saturday morning. I am still hoping that my wheels make it here in time for the show, but I am not positive that it is going to happen. My friend decided he actually doesn't want the CR Kais, so I am going to be selling them for him as soon as I am done with them. Feel free to PM me if you might be interested! Yesterday I ran a new positive cable for my battery relocation. I was going to mount it in the spare tire well, but decided to keep it simple and mounted it in the rear driver's side of the hatch area. I forgot to grab a pic, but it seems to be a good location. I got the rear suspension all back together and dialed in (to an extent,) tossed the wheels and tires on, and was ready to give the car a much needed bath. My wife wanted to take videos of me driving the car for the first time. This would be all good and dandy if my idle wasn't at 2200 RPM when taking said vids, LOL. Oh well- I got it sorted out later that evening. For now, enjoy these vids of a helicopter landing in my driveway: I also grabbed some quick shots with the camera before I put it away for the night. It looks a lot better on the CR Kais than I remembered, so that was a nice surprise. The front are 225/40 instead of 215/40, so not ideal- but it looks alright I think. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So yeah, I am really excited to have the car back on the road! The brake pedal is for sure a bit more firm with the new brakes and master setup, and the clutch pedal is a lot more firm with the Exedy Hyper Single. I like the sound of the new exhaust a lot- a little bit more raw than the DMAX, and might be a tiny bit louder. The Cusco shifter bushing made a huge difference as well- always fun to drive the car after a bunch of changes! I'll be sure to keep this updated this week as I get a chance to test drive it a bit. I also realized I forgot to take snaps of the bay (you know, the main thing I have been working on for nine months, lol) so I will grab some snaps of that as well. The new wheels are very close to completion- don't give up on me yet! |
