Trader Rating: (8) Feedback Score: 8 reviews | haha thanks for the compliments guys, unfortunately with the way things turned out I was forced to sell the s14. She is gone for good now, I'm not sure I like how a COUPLE of things turned out on the car but 98% of it makes me so happy ![]() the new owner bought 17x9+0/17x9.5 +15 te's and matte blacked them, a 1750mm d-drug deck with my stands on it and followed through with the legacy of the SR ![]() http://www.motormavens.com/emAlbum/a..._1067-copy.jpg ![]() http://www.motormavens.com/emAlbum/a..._1279-copy.jpg i warned him that he wouldn't like the hood for long so now its getting a dmax hood with just black slats, will look killer! ![]() sneak peak of underneath the bumper during the build so now back to the s13, it has a LOT of problems to address and i've got little time to dick around. its receiving an s15 subframe, driftworks spindles all around, afco dual pass radiator setup with custom shrouding, new coolers for oil and ps, new bash bar front end and tube framed engine bay, ATL fuel cell and a full rewire I've already been doing a little bit of work on it so i'll share here so there were a couple of obstacles i had to overcome before i started my s13, number one was decided exactly how much i wanted to do and number two was to straighten up the self-collapsing shock tower :\ ![]() ![]() motherfucker was straight as an arrow when i built the car originally :\ never hit anything! frustrating but oh well, this won't happen again ![]() ![]() looks painful but she's all straight now time to hack the front end off and replace with oversized radiators and bars and stuff. got a full -20 setup waiting wiht SLP thermo and new Afco dual pass thick ol boy that i'm gonna tilt forward and duct to the hood vent in conjunction with a Volvo S60 e-fan and ducting up front as well. still lacking one cooler but plan on mimic'ing s14 cooler setup with 1 on each side but its proving tough to find a matching size (oh well no rush)![]() got these things that i can't wait to try out along with an s15 subframe and will be relocating the rack straps on front crossmember haven't figured out that fuel cell i got, i suppose i can make it work by just strapping it down and doing a cool firewall or just build a container for it. i haven't figured that out but i have spotted a great price on a Bosch 044 for it (this any good? from what i have read it is) there's more stuff but its all nonsense, oh well back to the garage! put a solid weekend into the car, more like a 3.5 day hiatus but whatever... started with some FLCA loving via battle version and some inspiration from the ETS blog since they're a little too pricey for me to order from nigel himself ![]() ![]() next we knocked out a replacement lower tie bar since the oem one sucks and is so fragile/all the spot welds on it ALWAYS break.. ![]() ![]() it will be visible through the bumper which is nice ![]() ![]() made a couple corner gussets for it so it grabs more of the oem frame rail ![]() then put up some 1/8" angle on top of rail for a bar shelf and later capped off the end of the frame rail for some rigidity next up was massive strut tower bar triangulated to hold my towers in place since we just got finished pulling the driver side out ![]() ![]() it sits so tight between motor and hood that the tube itself actually runs between those manifold runners and about 1/16 to 1/8 off the fuel rails, was fun learning how to make something like that in such close quarters. had the plates for the firewall and the strut towers water jetted at local shop, that dude does a killer job! then after the towers were located and permanently placed it was time to cut some shit off ![]() all the plates for my bars and bases were 1/8" steel. it may be overkill but its definitely more than enough i think this was like the 2nd tube i've ever bent so i took way too much time on it haha, got 2.5 hours in that sucker and it only has 2 goddamn bends! ![]() ghetto measurement takings ![]() ![]() annnnd one side done. still gonna do locators and will be replacing oem sheet metal with 18 ga. tubs and side pieces etc. since i don't like or prefer open engine bays. also will be fun to finally get to play with the bead roller ![]() oh well, thats it. there's a LOT of time in that stuff, i suppose i just move slow. my goal is XDC Dallas, tandem with aaron and george and everyone else would just be too heartbreaking to miss! finished the other tube tonight, 3 fucking tries later! gotta get another stick of chromoly now to finish the bash bar stuff haha ![]() i don't have a fender for the other side and probably won't ever so i couldn't check on it but i put the passenger side fender on and crap it fits close! turned out perfect imo ![]() ![]() i was planning on making a "hoop" to harness the front of the radiator when its tilted forward so that it can have mounts and protection but it'll have to stick out past the radiator like 3.5" because the radius of the die. didn't think about that, doh
