These Moroso pans have been sent through 240sxMotoring's hardcore R&D and quality control process.

We even sent these pans back to Moroso to have them modify them a bit.

Now, these (AND ONLY THESE) Moroso pans have
100% PERFECT FITMENT

Also, KA24 fans. I'd keep your ears open in the next month or so.

1. You do prove a good point, i asked moroso and they never heard of this problem. However this is what i did upon testing. I cleaned both upper pan and the moroso pan with brake cleaner for a clean fresh surface. I then put RTV on both the upper pan and the moroso pan, let it sit for a minute to get tacky but not like the state it is right out of the tube. I then bolted the pan up snug, not tight. I then let it sit a little longer then fully tightened it down. I believe this gave the RTV the opportunity to adhere properly to both surfaces. So far no leaks at all.

2. there is a slight maybe 1deg angle but i did not notice it once its on the car or out of the box until you mentioned it.

thanks for this post. we checked and it did NOT clear the baffle.
Moroso came to our shop, picked all of them up and made the changes.
they now fit flawlessly.

this pan is the same dimensions as the Greddy pan. So if largus bars clear the greddy pan, then this should have no problems either.

andrew just took some pics. posting up shortly.

it was the weld from the flange to the baffle.

The main problem was the welds on the baffles causing fitment to be off ever so slightly. These new ones have the welds relocated to eleminate that problem. The baffles themselves have also been modified to resolve any clearance issues.

would a knock-off company go to such great lengths to correct a problem like moroso has? i really think not. this passion for quality work has me sold, expect an order from me next pay period!

Did you finger tight. Then let the RTV set up then TQ to spec?

No, in fact, I didn't. I always assumed that it was because the Tomei and Tomei knockoff pans are steel, and wouldn't flex as much to conform to the engine's mating surface as an aluminum pan would.

I may have to give these a try, but I also might Dremel a groove onto the flange...

you need to take your pan to a shop that has a gasket cutter. most bike shops will have those.

it will be around 18-20 dollars to cut a gasket. no need for rtv and it will seal perfect. you are welcome

Have you actually done this with an oilpan? I ask because the arguments I've always heard in favor of the RTV Nissan uses are a) rubber gaskets won't hold up under the heat and b) cork/fibrous gaskets will eventually become saturated and seep/sweat oil.

Any more info would be great.

Couple more dumb questions:

1. Do the mounting studs have an allen hex in the end, to ease installation? Is there anything that holds them in the upper pan, other than the tension holding the Moroso pan in place?
2. Could you conceivably use properly sized bolts instead?
3. Is the drain plug the same as factory?
4. What size is the sensor bung?
5. The four plugs in the bottom that allow you to get to the side mounting studs - how are they threaded? I guess I'm paranoid about them vibrating out, or leaking.

Sorry about the annoying customer routine. I've been fairly satisfied with my Greddy-style pan, except that it's cast and I'm always afraid it'll get cracked in some freak impact accident. This one looks attractive, being sheet aluminum, but my experiences with the Tomei-type leave me very leery.

Any info appreciated. Very interested...

1. It uses Hex style studs. Nothing holds them in except the tension of the lower pan.
2. You can use whatever bolt you want.
3. I believe it is but i never actually took it off and compared.
4. 1/4 i think, ill look at it and measure
5. they are threaded with a stop. you can use teflon to be safe and have the re-assurance of leakage.

I always get the feeling that when parts don't work from a major company, someone's doing the install wrong... wrong torque, or wrong order. Nissan's are so damn sensitive.. I'm pretty sure the FSM calls for 2 or 3 step torquing in a certain order. I can't wait to have enough cash for one of these to replace my Greddy.

At any rate.. if this pan is same in dimensions to the Greddy pan, then it will clear every sway bar known IN THE S14. It will NOT clear the Largus bars in S13s, as Largus bars in S13's do not clear Greddy pans.

This pan in S14 = works with every sway bar
This pan in S13 = works with every sway bar with the exception of Largus..

This is given that the Moroso pan and Greddy have the same length with respect to front to back of the car... 240sx motoring, can you confirm dimensions? If correct, then above fitment is also right, as I spent more than enough time finding out about what sways clear what...

Hey Bart,
I opened up a pan for ya and took the dimensions myself. I didn't have anymore Greddy pans currently on-hand so I couldn't take dimensions of that one as well. They are virtually the same.

Here you go:
